The first episode of, Chasing Strains, tackles Kyle's theory that marijuana can save football and explores what he means by this. If, as the US government believes, marijuana is a neuro-protectant, is it the helmet inside your skull that can prevent or reverse long-term damage from repetitive head trauma? Can it indeed help athletes recover from injury faster and replace addictive opioid pain killers? And, once out of the league, can it truly help retired players stave off the memory loss and impulse control problems that plagued players like Dave Duerson and Junior Seau? This episode delves deep into Kyle's personal story as an infamous NFL offensive lineman and the diseases & injuries he must cope with daily. Kyle shares his personal experience with numerous prescription drugs and why he gave them up in favor of marijuana.
