Funny, dramatic TV show with some action
kparikh-7079727 April 2017
I've enjoyed the show so far (Only on the second episode). It's pretty funny while being dramatic which is what I usually enjoy in a show. There's some action in it too but I wouldn't really watch it for that. It's just a nice addition. It might not be for you if you want a drama show with perfectly nuanced acting because this is more of a comedy drama show. It'll have a bit more over acting and less serious lines or scenarios.

Pretty entertaining...
EDNesbitt17 January 2018
I actually like the action part of this show more than the "romantic" aspect of it. I found the girl to be a bit annoying. With all the far more beautiful women that kept popping up on the show, I would have expected the lead woman to at least be more interesting and likable. She had high expectations of a guy who she really was only "dating" for two days. After finding out he was a special agent and using her, she expected everything to be back to normal afterward and didn't understand why he "left". There were just certain aspects of her character that just made cringe a little. I hope he runs off and leaves her at the end because she really is dragging down the show. I'm only on the tenth episode and getting close to my breaking point because of her character. I just don't see the chemistry between the two of them. Ick... Although, I'm continuing to watch the show because of the action and the bromance between the two guys. It's kinda cute...

I really liked this series. Park Hae-jin is a pleasure to watch and Park Sung-woong is funny. Kim Min-jung is also good. I really enjoyed this series. It had a little of everything. Romance, comedy, drama and crime. Very entertaining.

Pure joy!
jon-899-9282713 May 2017
Just discovering Korean movies it's a pleasure to find such a good show. By accident I stumbled across this show on Netflix, It looked kind of hopeless the first few minutes, but there is a certain rhythm to get into learning to listen to a new language. So reading sub in my second language, and listen to Korean at the same time is a bit hard. But once getting a hang of it, It's an amazing fun show with lots of great acting, or at least I think so, not knowing the Korean typical art of acting! Worth every minute of my time! So my advise, get some popcorn, and give this a try, and you'll have a great laugh.. Some good action moments, and a quite good plot!

It's great

The first few episodes may seem odd to other people but overall it's really good. I really enjoyed watching this.Every episode gets better and better. I consider it as one of the best TV series I've seen. Few people didn't liked it, maybe it's just really because people have different taste.

baffled by the absence in reviews
morloq11 July 2017
The benchmark for Korean & Chinese top rank film & TV seems unjustifiably skewed higher in nearly all reviews by those outside the culture. Characters & actors & scripts are nitpicked to a degree that U.S. productions aren't, and ignorant cultural biases are applied to character motivation that demonstrate total lack of awareness of difference in cultural mores. The very high level of self-parody done well that is lauded to the hilt in western efforts like the TV series Chuck is derided unappreciatively as shallow simpering, career trademark of Jim Carrey. Most of all, the production quality, in particular the substantially superior picture resolution & camera work, gets no mention. Again & again, I've been left agape at the beauty of just the picture or scene setting or camera staging in Chinese & Korean production that is so evidently a quantum level above even the best of what I see come out of Hollywood. Much of that seems to utilize the 16:9 aspect ratio with a panoramic sensibility missing altogether in western cinema weaned on the 4:3 TV screen so cripplingly dependent on the close-up of faces. Although I have only watched the first episode so far, I hesitate to binge watch this excellent series because just the one episode was so full of skilled nuance both visually & dramatically. K-drama is often derided as overly melodramatic, and I suspect the many lesser productions I never saw that constitute by far the bulk of the genre are such. But that has made the best of it, such as this show, all the more poignant as a result of its makers being well practiced in conveying passion on the screen.

Stopped After 5 Episodes
nishera28 March 2019
I wanted to like this show. I really did. I was looking for something light and fun, and from a technical standpoint, it looked promising; the cinematography, stunts and music are polished and the cast has some solid actors. But for some reason, I just couldn't get into it. I'm a k-drama veteran so I know that the first 2-3 episodes of a show can be a bit bumpy, and I also dislike giving negative reviews, so I hung in there, hoping it would grow on me. But after 5 episodes I finally gave up. The characters just felt so half-hearted and I didn't buy the romance at all (which is the core of the show).

To be fair, I was just coming off of watching Mr. Sunshine and A Korean Odyssey/Hwayugi (both fantastic productions with epic love stories), so I suppose anything would pale in comparison. Still, I can't help but feel something critical is missing. I hesitate to blame the acting, since Min-Jung Kim (female lead) delivered such a stunning performance as Hina in Mr. Sunshine.

Speaking of her, I have to say the stylist did her no favors in this show. She was so beautiful and elegant in Mr. Sunshine, it was a pity to let her looks be downgraded by a poorly chosen hair style.

ROMANCE RATING: 6/10. I only saw 1 kiss, but that was enough for me. The kiss itself wasn't badly acted, the leads just had zero chemistry, so to me it felt awkward.

Sorry, I can't really recommend this show. I will revisit it at a later date to see if I should revise my opinion.

I Truly Enjoyed Man to Man!
Fieryvee17 August 2017
I truly enjoyed watching Man To Man. Park Hae Jin is quite an actor and extremely handsome! The shots of PHJ are breath taking. This drama is the best eye candy if you're a PHJ fan! I was most impressed with PHJ range of acting. He can be quite funny and he's superb as an agent. Many folks had negative remarks about the lead actress. But I actually liked her. The entire cast did a good job! Can't wait to see the movie Cheese In The Trap with PHJ!

PARK-PARK BROMANCE
Inter-Rumpes31 May 2021
I liked and finished watching this KDrama for two reasons, the bromance scenes and the action, other than that it had major misses for me. When I started watching it, I expected a drama that has more of an action packed theme and less romance. I honestly felt like the romance between the two leads was forced and unnecessary.

I feel terrible for the female lead since many people went in on her, blaming her for the performance but I think she executed her script as she should have. The only problem was that the romance was unnecessary. After watching Park Hae Jin in Cheese in the Trap, I think they should have let his character develop with no romantic storyline. The main focus should have been on the spies and the bromance which I think would have been a better sell.

I liked the acting between the villain and his wife, that did more for me than any other romance scenes that tried to creep in. The spy handlers also had a good brotherhood going on, which I honestly wish was focused on more. I would give it a 7 since it delivered on tech, action and spying. Watch it if you're looking for a spy themed drama and if you don't mind skipping the romance scenes between the main leads.

When the acting is so good, you can't help but love it
deanadeva24 April 2020
Haters stay down! This drama was a delight to watch. I laughed so much cause the humor was too good. I had to go back and watch things one more time cause the action or acting was so beautiful I could not help it. The direction was pure perfection they crafted the roles to have such good balance between the humor and the action and the cinematography. Trust me it was such a good watch after a long time of very similar story line Korean drama's. I would anyday recommend this series.

Good Watch.
dalvisabah10 November 2021
Overall the drama was a good watch - story line, some light hearted scenes and all cast performance was truly good. The lead female cast Kim Min-jung should have tried to not to overact, as I found her performance very poor in comparison to her fellow actors.

Fun
wheatley-202305 August 2021
I particularly enjoyed seeing Min-Jung Kim again after loving Mr Sunshine. Although this series is not anywhere near as good as that, Min-Jung Kim lit up the screen whenever she appeared.

Without her it is an entertaining enough watch, with goodies triumphant and baddies punished. The bromance between the two male leads provided some decent comedy too.

Storyline can be tighter
mailarwyn14 November 2021
The first 5 episodes were slow but gets better past that. The bromance was really funny bt the romance between Park Hae-jin and Kim Min-joung is super tacky. I think the show can do better without the romance.

AMAZING
cchao-590658 August 2018
Park Hae jin plays an incredible lead character throughout the whole series. This was my first K-drama and it did not disappoint-- I am completely hooked. The plot was complex enough to keep my interest, along with a few comedic moments here and there. The action was also great, and almost every episode ends in a great cliffhanger. I really hope there is a second season! And if you weren't into korean actors before... this show will change you.

fun fluff
hamlet-163 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This is hard series to classify ...a comedy but with some real action drama including a phenomenal fight sequence in one episode.

On the other hand the comedy aspects are at time extremely funny and satirical. The Bromance aspect is very funny ... brother!

Overlaid is a traditional Korean corruption tale ..crooked cops...politicians and corporate executives. Good spies and bad spies ....but the plot almost doesn't matter ...just sit back and enjoy a fun cast doing what they do .. and doing it very well and don't take anythign too seriously.

But I am still trying to get used to Korean etiquette ,,,it is really a cultural shock!

It has promising scenes at first
lmerana1 April 2019
The first scenes were really like hollywood style, visuals and sound effects. But as the story progressess it was kinda boring and monotonous. I also felt that the main lead does not appear as a cool special agent guy.

All in all, I loved it. Korean shows have not disappointed yet. Thank you Netflix for adding so many choices. There's a recipe I like - at least one of the characters is nuts. Laugh out loud nuts. A Korean Odyssey had one as well and Man to Man does also. But then there's that part of the recipe that drives me nuts. What is with this press lips and then freeze thing? How can you show longing or passion this way? At least be a little more real. Please.

The dot is very pretty
alaningle718 October 2020
A secret agent has a bromance whilst working undercover for an actor but a romance could be on the cards with the actors manager. Lots of skulduggery with large conglomerates, the security service and ghost agents all battling one another to expose or hide the truth. The plot is ok and there are quite a few lighthearted fun moments especially with the bromance.

I enjoyed it but..
yosyunos20 June 2021
It should be just action and comedy. The romantic thing with that Do-ha character is unnecessary, I'm sure she's a good actress but I find that character is annoying and too clingy! Urgh! Other than that, all good!

Disappointing
chad-77665-8729829 October 2021
Had wanted to like this one and on occasion the acting is pretty good. But the story is drop dead boring (or so boring I thought I would drop dead). I know it can take a few Kdrama episodes to get going but couldn't get past 3. The pretty boy protagonist is beyond wooden. Some of the other characters (the actor, his manager, etc.) are just quirky enough and well acted that I wanted to stay with it, but the story just too dull. Sorry. Can't waste another moment on the weak storyline.

not good enough
PennyReviews1 June 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Didn't not expect this drama to be this bad. The main story didn't seem like something crazily interesting, but still, the first episode was promising. However, the drama was tiring, with a boring plot that dragged on and on, with no actual twists, no chemistry between the actors (not even the couple was good) and no humour. That resulted to prevent me finishing this one, and I rarely leave dramas like that. I mean, I was able to force myself to watch to the beautiful you, when the plot got so predictable and boring, I could feel hours of my life being wasted for nothing. But this drama was even worse. Maybe I was expecting more out of it, as the cast was maned by seriously good actors. So, what happened? I blame most of it on the story that was an actual mess. So, 2 out of 10.

Great Contemporary Espionage Romance
balinesekitty26 May 2022
Great family entertainment. No real gore or explicit things. Show is about a special agent that falls in love during an assignment. Has a bit of the James Bond flair going in this series. Would love to see an sequel or a season 2.
