It's a Miserable Life

Warning: Spoilers
This show may not have needed, or let's be honest, deserved, a second season, but I am sure glad it got one. Seeing Dice still act outrageous and talk dirty in his old age is comforting in a way, as is David Arquette still getting acting work.

The parody of It's a Wonderful Life is a little clichéd at this point, but the season premiere still had some positive moments in it.

It's a Miserable Life

Would the world be better off without the comedian Andrew 'Dice' Clay?

Does the question even has to be raised if you have seen 'The Adventures of Ford Fairlane'

The fictional character Dice, inspired and played by Andrew Dice Clay is cursed by a rabbi that the world would be better off without him.

In this season premiere Dice wakes up in a Las Vegas hotel room as a schmuck. A boring middle aged textile salesman making a pitch for a new client in order to save the factory and not lose jobs to India.

He is happily married, his two sons have tech jobs and are still virgins, saving themselves for the right woman. Everyone else he knew from Vegas is miserable apart from David Arquette.

This is a well known story device based on the famous James Stewart film, the premise has been used by lots of other shows but at least Dice managed to do it neatly in this episode. Since he worked with Woody Allen his acting chops has got better. I just did not find it all that funny.
