- Upset from her experience with a disoriented Maggie, Althea explains to Nick that Maggie asked Matt for a divorce because she's losing her sanity. While discussing Maggie's behavior, Nick begins to consider her symptoms and states that the final word about a diagnosis is still left to be said. Matt visits Maggie, who is becoming more withdrawn from reality and repeats the phrase, "Nobody can find me." Following his visit with Maggie, Matt phones Dr. Weldon to have her transferred to the psychiatric wing indefinitely. Matt meets Karen outside Maggie's room, and when Karen feigns concern for her, Matt orders her to his office where he confronts her about her lies. She finally admits that she confessed to Maggie her love for him. Matt forcefully assures her that he loves no one but Maggie. After he states coldly that they have no past, no future, and for the present they're only strangers, a devastated Karen flees the room in tears. Nick secretly goes to Maggie's room and gives her a physical examination. At Althea's urging, John opens his eyes but doesn't respond to Althea's questions. Nick rushes into Matt's office saying that he has a hunch, and if he's correct, Maggie's going to be OK.—Skip Eastport
