Adapted from a short story of the same name by writer and director Fred Smith from his book of short stories How Long Can a White Girl Last on Nebraska Avenue.
Writer/director Fred Smith was working on adapting his short story into a film in 2012. The shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in August of that year proved too emotional an event for him to continue. The project was shelved until 2015, when Smith learned his daughter's school routinely practiced school shooting scenarios.
Filmed in a single day in writer/director Fred Smith's garage in Riverview, FL. Smith built the set himself for about $100.
The entire film takes place in the closet.
The paramedic who appears at the end of the film is Grace Santos, reputed actor, director, producer and the real-life mom of Keira McCarthy.
