The wall that is breached by the detonation cord is clearly plaster/sheet rock and could have easily been smashed open with any object other than a high explosive. A solid security type wall would be made of reinforced concrete or reinforced with steel plate, both of which would be audibly different to a hollow cavity space. It would be easy to tell the difference between the walls construction and to break down the wall rather than risk detonating a high explosive in a confined space.
