An OK episode, perhaps, I expected too much

Warning: Spoilers
Knowing that this show never intended to be real, this episode is passable. From time to time, it gets so fake that it hurts. Some of the emotions are so exaggerated... It's nice to see that the puzzle pieces are coming together, but oh man it could've been so much better. After such a long wait, we deserved something spectacular! What's up with Alex? I don't believe her, not for a second. The nurse was especially painful to watch. MacLeish appears to be quite weak as a character, always following his wife and the unknown somebody who they keep bringing up and hinting on their supposed omnipotence. Duh... And what's up with the cliffhangers?

Shoot to Kill
Hitchcoc16 July 2019
We get into the head of that sociopath Vice President. Wells saves the President's life but doesn't know who she can trust. MacLeish makes two awful decisions in about three hours and really draws attention to himself. He is in a funk because the President should be dead. We also find out about someone thought to be dead.

Warning: Spoilers
Excellent return to a show that had been on hiatus for too long.

President Kirkman takes a bullet in an assassination attempt and while undergoing surgery, the 25th amendment is invoked leading to the temporary succession of the vice president, who by now is a major culprit in the situation.

Almost at once, the acting president does what seems contrary to everyone; including, the opening of the stock market after Asian markets have fallen precipitously.

Agent Welles is literally shell-shocked as she hesitates to reveal what she has learned about the vice president despite the fact that a long term jail sentence may be looming for her.

An exciting, fast-paced episode.

Wow!

Should have been a medical advisory so folks with weak hearts would be careful. This is a binge-watcher for sure. I take a little rest from this and then return. Yeah heart issues. I don't understand the negative reviews. Certainly there may be issues with scenarios but gee whiz otherwise this is a very, very good piece of work. I'd say also that Mr. Sutherland doesn't need to use his 24 voice in this one but, well, he does use it. Still a great story.

Returns From Break
bobcobb30113 March 2017
Designated Survivor had an explosive midseason finale, but it's return was a little underwhelming. No immediate threat to the President, a lame flashback scene that didn't drive anything forward, and the Maggie Q subplot has gone completely off the rails.

They really just want to give us chaos every week, but I don't think the writers know precisely what they're doing long-term.

Disappointing Episode
mark-ruddle20 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The VP takes the reins for what must be the longest 2-3hrs known to mankind. And somehow manages to do whatever he likes without anyone preventing him, Kirkman should take note. Continuity was just a bit disappointing, I hope things pick back up.
