- Chris wants to find out what kind of game Kai Sonderhoff is playing. He suspects Melanie of covering up her childhood friend and decides to check Kai's identity through the police computer. The investigations are initially inconclusive. Only when Chris gets Kai's fingerprints does he come across a crucial clue. The prints match those of a wanted art thief. Chris decides to act ... Meanwhile, Kai Sonderhoff tells Slanski that their mission will be over in the next few hours. While the professor is 'dining' with Margot, he receives a call from Kai, who tells him that he has broken through to the art gallery. Slanski leaves hastily, leaving behind a distraught hostess. A little later, the professor returns from the art gallery overjoyed with the Madonna. His mission has been accomplished ... Till decides to take a closer look at Slanski's apartment and uses Sophie's second key. Together with Marc and Antonia, he discovers a previously unknown trapdoor in the hallway, which leads directly into the basement. Indistinct drilling noises can be heard. The three friends decide to talk to Chris first before continuing their investigation. But Till can't curb his curiosity. He returns alone to Sophie's apartment and puts himself in a life-threatening situation.
