A lot of potential, Minor mistakes
blumdeluxe10 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Disposable" tells the story of a traumatized man, who lost his wife in a car accident and began to split parts of his personality in order to cope with the loss and his feelings of guilt. When his paths increasingly cross those of horrible murder crimes, he begins to wonder to which degree he still has control over himself.

What is told here is a classical polit-thriller, mixed with some elements of surrealism through the mental state of the main character. There are a lot of intrigues and plot twists that get exposed throughout the plot and in many points the movie is not far away from a high budget thriller that you could also find on bigger screens. The constant change of time and perspective can become a bit exhausting, but if you watch carefully, you'll nevertheless get the main points. However, there are some things that aren't perfect yet. The plot at a certain point is quite predictable and even though the overall production looks very professional, in some scenes you just see that there wasn't a budget for more. Side notice: Cutting throats in low budget movies always looks ridiculous, just skip the shot. So this is far from being a masterpiece but it does a lot of things right already.

All in all it is a very ambitious movie, that delivers a strong plot through professional images. There is still a lot of room for improvements, nevertheless this is by no means a bad film.

I thought it was a good movie thriller worth the watch
fjstars28 September 2017
People these days don't want to get invested in a story line. It seems that review writers are looking for immediate gratification or they are just upset at the world and writing a bad review is a way for them to use their power to get back at it. I really liked this little indie thriller. It's not the best acted or filmed but it has an interesting story which is better than a cookie cutter action film. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a movie to past the time, it was good.

Obviously, the ratings on this movie are by people who are in some way related to it. Terrible, just terrible.

Terrible acting. Stupid plot line. Complete waste of time to watch. Anyone giving a good review must have been paid to do so. Save your time and skip this movie. I wish I had shipped it.

WHAT is the deal with these reviews?
whatithinkis19 September 2017
This is absoLUtely awful.. I mean BAD. Acting, writing, directing, sound, music. Awful.

Lots of production value in the locations, clothes, sets, so I guess somebody with some bucks thought they knew something they do not know: how to make movies.

This is not not not the way.

These high ratings? Friends, family, investors. Gotta be. Really . . . this should have a minus 3 rating. Wonder why mine is the only negative review here. Well, this is so bad probably nobody bothered. But over on Amazon, lots of people speaking up.

Hooo, does this stink.

Incredibly bad
cledakling30 September 2017
I'm an obsessive IMDb review reader; sometimes before and sometimes after watching a movie. But Disposable prompted me to be a reviewer so that I might save someone the waste of even a few minutes that could be better spent doing anything other than watching this mess of a film.

It's pretty people in what looks to be a bad episode of Matlock without the production values, acting ability or savvy sleuth. I rarely give up on a film, but this broke a land speed record for hitting the back button.

Action-packed political thriller with punch.
bobheske20 March 2017
DISPOSABLE is one of those rare indie gems with big ambition that pays off. Lead Tommy Beardmore delivers a strong performance in this mind- bending, political action thriller that keeps the audience guessing at every twist and turn. Most of the other cast are relative unknowns, but they deliver and maintain credibility in this fast-moving tale.

The real star is director/writer Daniel Cayarga who executes on a superb script with great direction, nuance and style. The production value - an Achilles heel with many low budget indies - is a strength in this film.

One word of caution: Put the cell phone down and pay attention because there is a lot going on here. But that's okay, the film merits your attention and, after the surprising opening, you will be sure to keep your eyes glued. I watched the film twice and liked it even better the 2nd time.

Poor excuse for a movie
yonhope20 September 2017
It is a movie about some slasher killings. The direction is very lame. This movie turns sour right after the credits. Nice font. The actors might have done better if there was something to work with. This is just not good. I have no idea who some of the characters are supposed to be. The ending is especially bad. The doctor does his part OK but there is no great moment for him. Flashback scenes are usually not good. This movie's flashbacks are no exception. I think there is supposed to be a plot twist or something but I can't be sure what is supposed to be happening. Just another of the bad movies at Amazon Prime.

Great indie nail biter!
mdr13935039 August 2017
Very well shot with some creative camera moves and cinematography. The director sustains the suspense well, which is not an easy thing to do, especially on an indie production. Performances are decent - especially Tommy Beardmore. Eager to see what this director has in store for us next!

Very well done and highly recommend!

Awful film.
vmalast10 January 2019
I made it to about the 10 minute mark and then gave up. The way the "remembering " sequence was filmed was all I could take, I thought something was wrong with the video but, no, it was intentional. You dont need a big Hollywood budget, actors or FX to make a great movie. There are a great many indi thrillers out there. This isn't one of them. Save yourself some time and skip this "film" the high ratings must be from those involved with the film or paid for.

Disposable diapers.
Top_Dawg_Critic26 June 2023
Putting the lead actor Tommy Beardmore's name in big letters did nothing to this already terrible production. Nobody knows him so what was the point? The entire production was just terrible. If there were C-films, this would be it. Terrible acting, directing and writing. The sound was so bad, has anyone ever heard of boom mics? Ignore the obvious bs high reviews, although I can say they're more entertaining than this movie.

tcayarga-2893723 March 2017
What a pleasant surprise of a movie! I streamed this movie after my friend highly recommended it - and boy am I glad I did. No big names, or special effects - just good old intriguing storytelling and inventive filmmaking. I felt like It was really well crafted and directed. Tommy Beardmore was fantastic in the lead role. The ending came as a total shock!

Believable Story Good Cast
HeyChipLane30 May 2017
It has its indie moments. Overall the film moves quickly. The story wasn't hard to follow. Tommy and Shea were believable and worked well together. Suspenseful story with a twist. Intricate political thriller. The film sticks to its plot. Didn't drift off into a mood or a statement. It did well for the budget.

Fabulous Thriller Ride!
horrorhotel16328 March 2017
Hold on to your seats because this is a fab thriller ride! I love a good psychological. Hitchcock style thriller and this one delivers and then some. Great story-line, superb script, memorable performances from the actors and did I mention the twists. Bill Thompson played by Tommy Beardmore, is the victim of psychological trauma that has left him unsure of his actions and what he is or isn't capable of doing. He becomes the prime suspect in a serial killer cast and he doesn't know if he is guilty or not. Just a great plot line. Where most indies fall short in production value and great settings, this film has a big budget, studio look and feel. Kudos to Daniel Cayarga the writer/director for this jewel of pure indie entertainment.

If you're looking for a well-made thriller with a great twist and wonderful performances you should definitely see DISPOSABLE.
ryanbartongrimley6 January 2018
DISPOSABLE is a well-made indie thriller with a great twist! I really loved the script on this one. It doesn't pull any punches and far exceeds its indie roots. The lead performances are also very good and compelling. I love the feel of the whole thing. It reminded me of all the great DePalma thrillers we all know an love. If you're looking for a well-made thriller with a great twist and wonderful performances you should definitely see DISPOSABLE.

Enjoyable and different
donald-thomas12 May 2018
Disposable is an excellent film and yet, not easy to talk about without revealing the intricate plot. Let's just say that everything is not always what it seems, but there are clues along the way to help you figure it out... if you pay attention.

Tommy Beardmore plays Bill Thompson, who suffers from some of psychological illness which changes his perceptions at times. He gets mixed-up in a series of young women murders, which he may or may not have committed. Chased by the police, chased by criminals, he finds help along the way as he tries to clear his name.

It is Tommy Beardmore's film. He is hugely likeable and talented, which is fortunate because he is in a good chunk of the film. The other actors are also talented and believable. Special shout-out to Emily Dennis and to Daniel Sobieray, who have large parts in the film, and to Richard Wingert and to young Gavin Maddox Bergman, who appear more briefly but are just as noteworthy.

Director Daniel Cayarga must be praised. He is an "homme-orchestre" as we would say in French. Not only has he directed the film, he was also director of photography, editor, producer and writer. The pace of the film is excellent. Granted it is only 83 minutes but it flows very well. The film looks good (especially on blu-ray), the performances are good. I especially liked the writing though because when something seems far-fetched, a character would address it and "prove" that it made sense. In other words, Cayarga not only wrote the story but made sure that it held up, which is precious these days. Like I said, the clues are there, and if you pick up on them, the fun increased.

So a fun film to watch, well-acted, and well written, and well directed. I will be eagerly awaiting Daniel Cayarga's next feature film.
