I'm a big fan of the film "You're Next", so I was drawn to this by Nicholas Tucci. But I also love the film within a film conceit and "Myth" does a great job with it. I liked the mix of comedy and thriller/drama, and it takes you on a fun journey.

Bit tired of seeing high scores for movies like this, must all be friends and staff of the movie voting to inflate ratings

Because this is just like every other low budget film that feels like a student film, that goes nowhere

Tucci is a great villain. The film overall makes you feel really uncomfortable by design. The idea of creating a movie in a movie is clever and effective.

Great 80's retro theme awesome performances by the leads and a funny dark premise that will keep you guessing. This is a great film about filmmaking and what happens when you meet your idols, or perhaps why you should never meet them. Nicholas Tucci is a revelation here and a magnetic onscreen presence playing Director JP it's a performance that slowly draws you in just like the film itself. Believe in this Myth!

I absolutely loved this movie! The story, directing and acting were all top notch. I really enjoyed the lead male male actor, Nicholas Tucci. He was creepy good (this meant as a compliment). He played bad super well which is not the easiest thing for an actor to do. Don't get me wrong, the other actors were quite good too. I enjoyed the pace of the film. Well done Mr. Director! It never dragged for me. So I give this film a solid thumbs up!!

Myth is an interesting indie film. Nicholas Tucci does a great job at giving off an unsettling vibe as the filmmaker who wants to make a film that follows real-life, but starts to make you question his intentions and what is real and what is for the movie. I really like these movies where there's a film within a film, and I appreciate the throwback feeling as well. While all independent films have their imperfections, I found that Myth was definitely worth a watch for me.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie. I got sucked in and really liked hanging with the characters and wondering what would happen next. It's like an indie Truman show in a way. It's got a vibe that sort of demands that you relax and take whatever you're watching in. It's got a subtle comedy that I really dig! If you're an aspiring artist of any kind, I think you'll love this like I did. Also, THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD!

Myth has an interesting (if unsettling) premise and is anchored by Nicholas Tucci's performance. Indie movies can be an acquired taste but I was pleasantly surprised this time as I was sucked in by the story. I seem to have thing for movies within a movie. Some of my favorites include Fellini's "8 1/2", Truffaut's "Day for Night," and even Tom DiCillo's "Living in Oblivion." That being said, Myth was right up my alley. I also think the overall aesthetic, including cinematography and production design, are solid. The pace is a bit slow but feels appropriate for the narrative. Overall, a great little indie.

Nicholas Tucci is this movie, but that's certainly not to take away from Justin Andrew Davis or Sadie Scott. MYTH works in its subtle realism, even when that realism is stretched. Not a thriller, but psychologically engaging and engrossing.

Definitely check this one out!

The lead character, a director with a cult following wants to make a movie. So many interesting moments, humour, twist and odd 80's retro feel to this film. The actor Nicolas Tucci was excellent, that is what kept me engaged the entire time. An interesting and engaging indie film.

This is a refreshingly twisted film on how far one will go to get what one wants. The humor is quirky and sometimes dark especially with the main actor. And the film takes you in one direction only to lead you in another in a smart psychological way, while still being humorous about the whole affair. What makes this film work is that it does not go the formulaic way of most films of these types, but instead veers into uncharted territory in order to create something different and that is refreshing. You will care about the characters, you will wonder how it all ends, and you will appreciate everything the director did to get you there. Nice job!

A dark comedy wrapped around a twisted mystery played to the hilt by a talented young cast and its first time feature director DiLorenzo. Impressive debut with fine camera and pacing. Nicolas Tucci is one to watch for.

Art & life become intertwined when Alex, an aspiring young filmmaker, meets his directing idol, JP Smith. Justin Andrew Davis captures the naivete of Alex, and Nicholas Tucci gives JP an intense--and slightly creepy--charisma. Sadie Scott is irresistible as Ruby, the girl Alex spots at a mall and is encouraged by JP to follow. Writer/Director Brian DiLorenzo has hit a home run in his first feature film. Looking forward to seeing more from him.

It's an odd interesting movie about a making a movie. You'd think it could turn into a thriller, then it seems like a comedy, then a drama. The thing is, it doesn't matter, it's captivating, well directed and the main actors are really good. That's all you need.

I was blown away by this film! Even more blown away when I found out it was a directorial debut. This is truly masterful cinema- when we hear the phrase "this is why we go to the movies" it's usually in reference to a summer blockbuster or an Oscar-bait melodrama, but this kind of film is why I go to the movies. Weird, wonderful, surreal yet clearly influenced by the ultra-realism of Dogme95, with a highly skillful small cast, this film drags you in and begs you to be a participant rather than a spectator. The story is more layered than at first expected, so it definitely deserves a second viewing to get the whole experience. I got hints of Broken Flowers, Synecdoche New York, ands Mandy; and the score was outstanding as well. I don't think I've encountered a more fitting soundtrack for a film since Harold and Maude. If you're a true film fan, or fan of any kind of art really, give it a chance. Can't wait to see what else the director has in store.

A well scripted and filmed psychological thriller. The story and timelines are fun to be part of and the director does a nice job of keeping us guessing. The principal roles of Alex and JP Smith are very well played. I recommend it as a bit of a fun wild ride.

This was a brilliant indie-film made with a clever script and a solid cast of unknowns. Nicholas Tucci is the real standout. Parts of it are bit long but this is a really innovative idea and gets to the heart of the ruthlessness obsession of film making. I really enjoyed it. And as far as the ending is concerned? Or course he signed it!

I watch my share of indie movies. While I find many (if not most) a let-down, I keep coming back. Why? For the excitement of finding one that succeeds in the face of every compromise and constraint from working with limited funds outside the studio system. Myth is one of those gems. It's micro-budget indie done right.

With its understated dark comedic tone, Myth is reminiscent of awkward coming-of-age films that became Gen X cult staples in the 80s. The retro-ish soundtrack meshes well and the absence of mobile phones is refreshing. The lead performances are terrific and don't exhibit the self-conscious efforts that otherwise hallmark this budgetary arena of filmmaking. I especially enjoyed the chemistry between Tucci's piercing intensity and Davis' earnest likability, and how DiLorenzo so often let their gazes do all the talking.

Myth is an unpretentious film. It's engaging, confidently directed and despite the ambitious narrative, the editing never feels confusing or amateurish. I look forward to what DiLorenzo does next, and I'll forever be suspicious of people listening to royalty free music CDs in their car...

"Myth" instantly carves out a worthy space for itself in the film within a film genre. The performances ares simultaneously complex and subtle. That alone is an incredible feat for any filmmaker to pull off, let alone first time feature filmmaker Brian DiLorenzo. The plot also skillfully plumbs the line between unpredictability and excess complexity. The pacing is solid and well thought out. The visuals are very well executed and the 80's, vintage vibe is hard not to like. I'd say this work had a skilled hand at the helm. If this film is just the start of Brian DiLorenzo's career, I'm genuinely excited to see where it blossoms from here. Def give it a watch!

A bold feature directorial debut by Brian DiLorenzo about Alex, a naive young man who encounters his artistic hero, JP Smith. The film explores the shaky existential realities created by this intersection which takes him in unexpected and not always desirable directions, raising questions about artistic integrity and our need to mythologize our heroes. The film is great looking with dynamic performances by all members of the cast.

This was a very compelling story, wonderful cinematography, and great music. Love the twist at the end. Great acting.

This film is clever, well made, amusing and fun. If that doesn't sound like a good time to you, then I just don't even know what to say. If you're looking to escape from the dumpster fire that is reality right now, MYTH is a perfect way to do it!
