Adapting Shakespeare on Film (2016)
*** (out of 4)
Filmmakers Carlo Carlei and Billy Morrissette are interviewed for this eight-minute featurette, which has them talking about bringing the legendary playwrite to the screen. The two men start off talking about how they got interested in Shakespeare and from here they talk about the work of Orson Welles with Shakespeare as well as their own movies. There's nothing ground-breaking here and this is probably the least interesting featurette on the 1948 Blu-ray of MACBETh but at the same time there are some nice stories told here. It's always fascinating getting to listen to filmmakers talk about their influences as well as what they see in certain pieces of art.
