Merry Christmas,Mr Khan.

Warning: Spoilers
Visiting a friend on Christmas Eve,we decided to watch a TV Comedy X-Mas special. Checking BBC iPlayer,we found that the Citizen Khan special had aired last night!,which led to us getting set to spend X-Mas with Mr.Khan.

The plot:

Set for another Christmas with family,Mr.Khan thinks about the times a chance has come for him to climb up the business world ladder, but has been lost due to family always coming first. Constantly trying to get the community centre named after him,Khan plans to join mosque leader Dave in going to London on Christmas day for an award from the Queen.Hearing this,Khan's family order him to follow tradition and stay at home. Depressed,Khan starts to think that he has wasted his life.Flying down,an Khan's guardian angel reveals that she is going to show him a Sparkhill without citizen Khan.

View on the ep:

Whilst countless Sit-Com specials have paid tribute to It's A Wonderful Life, the script by co-writer/(along with Richard Pinto) star Adil Ray pay direct tribute to the film with the opening galaxies talking to each other, and the plot being inter-cut with the turning pages of a book giving the special a warm festive atmosphere. Being rather childish with gags flying "poo" into punchlines, the writers balance the family Comedy with a heart-felt message of all faiths finding common ground,as Adil Ray gives a hilariously bombastic performance as Khan, who learns that it really is a Khanderful life.
