Henry vs. MPAA: A Visual History (2016)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Highly entertaining eleven-minute featurette has Pat Healy narrating the story of the battle to get HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER into theaters and with a rating that would allow people to watch it. We start off hearing about the film's first screening and the eventually buzz it began to get. We then learn about the first company that offered to release the movie if it got a R-rating but of course the MPAA hit it with the dreaded X. From here we learn about the various battles with the MPAA to try and get the film a R-rating. This here is actually a very good piece that tells a great bit of history about the film and its battle with the MPAA. This includes a very interesting note in regards to the film once again trying to get a different rating in 2016 but failing. Fans of the film will certainly enjoy this piece and it's fascinating to see how this film continues to shock people to this day.
