Series 3 concludes in good style with this offering, which sees Sidney and Geordie look into the disappearance of a schoolboy, from a wealthy but unloving family. Sidney has a painful decision to make, having tendered his resignation the reality of leaving the Church has a big impact on him.
They managed to cram so much into 45 minutes, the disappearance of the young boy, Mrs Maguire's wedding, Sidney's touch decision, Geordie's efforts to reunite with his wife, and Leonard's self realisation about his sexuality.
This could easily have been messy given the amount of content, but they did a fine job, it was emotional without being soppy. I particularly enjoyed the scenes between Sidney and Mrs M, who showed her softer side.
I sincerely hope we get series 4, but this one seemed to tie up all the loose ends. If it does return I think it would be difficult to write Amanda back in, we've had years of her and Sidney toing and froing, I feel like that story is done.
Very good way to end this series 8/10
