Not science, not that fun

I was looking forward to watching it because it looked like they may be looking at twin research and DNA and just overall show us scientific studies for doppelgangers. It's kinda curious that they are looking at similar looking people and I wanted to know what their findings were. This is not about that at all. This is about some people who supposedly look alike, some don't, who then are rated by a "computer" and at the very end by a group of people. So couples who just met each other and feel they look alike kinda "compete" against each other here on being most similar. But then not really, they just get scores, it doesn't really matter who wins or loses as that's not what it is about and we don't even get all their scores so I don't really get the point. We just follow these couples as they talk about how they look alike and how they feel about having a doppelganger, or how they felt like meeting this person. It's very shallow and no one really says anything much interesting. I did like the 2 old men as they seemed to really think this is all fun and interesting. Many of the others didn't say much. The 2 blonde couples didn't seem to care much either way and were not much on camera even though they were the attractive groups. They kinda just wanted to be there I guess? They likely didn't care much as they look good anyway and don't really care if someone else also looks good? The 2 comedians were interesting too, but it were only very short interviews and after you learned how they met they became boring again.

Some couples didn't even look alike. The 2 attractive couples just all looked attractive. But that's it, they were good looking. They didn't really seem that similar to me besides this. Some other couples also only shared some single features, but otherwise were clearly not alike.

The science itself was terrible. We see some computer comparison which is pointless unless you tell us what this compares. We just saw a score. The computer judged photos and 3D models of single facial features. Then there was a short scene about DNA comparisons, but yet again it was very short and for example the 2 blonde couples didn't feature much here at all. The research itself is interesting in that they study something cool, but the findings are pointless. We don't learn much about any science of how they do it. The documentary is 90% just interviews about how everyone feels about having some look-alike and it's all a bit embarrassing when a couple doesn't look that much alike but say they do. I think for the researchers this is a huge dud and they just cannot be happy about none of their findings being presented. As a documentary it doesn't work either as it's not about evidence, but then is not a competition either as there is no prize or even competition. It's just a bunch of people talking to the camera. A let down if you wanted to understand anything deeper than this. Lazy documentary.

I can say it's interesting to meet these couples and see them just have fun with it. But that's not enough. The doc just seemed to ignore some of the most interesting couples which is a shame. It should be cut down to 25 minutes. Or just focus on the blonde couples as it's always interesting to see attractive people tell us how they feel about looks and how they are seen by strangers. 2 random Joes looking alike is not really super relevant for anything.
