THE LAST FITNESS INSTRUCTOR is played straight but has such a ridiculous story that it feels like a spoof. It's about a woman who owns a gym who decides to fight back against perceived oppression against her gender, only to find a dastardly conspiracy set in motion that's designed to make women less intelligent.
If you can spy a feminist agenda here then you'll be right, but this indie movie is so cheap that it doesn't really feel like a movie at all. Everything plays out in just a couple of locations, mainly a gym, and with a bunch of non-actors in the main roles. Inevitably for a zero budget production the film is dialogue heavy with virtually no incident or major plot occurrences. It's a bore, in other words.
