Really excellent!!!

While watching it, I had the same impression as I heard some other viewers had too: why is this movie not yet a revelation for more people? I think I have an answer, but this is not what is important. The film is captivating and very emotional. Based on actual tragic events, it is a great and quite accurate reflection on the Romanian society and combines the action, comedy, drama, love story and documentary genres. Highly recommended!

A disrespectful piece of kitsch

Warning: Spoilers
The fact that this film is based on a real, still vivid national tragedy should have made the director more cautios with his approach. While there is nothing wrong to explore a few side themes along with the main topic, this film is inundated with poorly researched sensitive subjects, most of them approached in a soap-opera-like manner. We have teenage pregnancy, a Romeo&Juliet-like romance with a cringeworthy suicide attempt, the never ending science versus religion argument, a rich versus poor type of situation, a very clasist and out of place social satire (who in his right mind thought it's a reasonable idea to add that sitcomish stereotypical couple to create a ''funny" moment in this context?), racism, adoption issues, etcaetera etcaetera. On top of that, at the end of the film the director lets us know it is also about another national tragedy - the Colectiv nighclub fire, with Goodbye to Gravity's song playing in the background. Oh, boy!

On the same note, the main topic is insufficiently explored, all characters are flat and most of their lines sound artificial.

To conclude, the films lacks any depth, seriousness and dedication to make it even a decent cinematographic approach. It looks more like a cheap tearjerker, with no respect to the people whose lives were irreversibly affected by the event.
