They really ruined it. They should have finished it with Masamune finally getting with Aki, after he finally tells her the truth of how he was the overweight kid she tormented when he was younger. I hated the fact this was never mentioned to Aki by Masamune. The show was going brilliantly until the end which really messed everything up to a perfect, romantic, cliché ending. However, they ruined it and there will be no season 2 to make up for this hurrendous ending. I enjoyed the first couple episodes but it turned very disappointing. SO ANGRY GRRRRRR

Masamune-Kun's revenge is about a boy called Masamune Makabe, and his revenge story on Aki Adagaki. A girl that had broken his heart and made him lose all his weight. He did this so she falls in love with him, and then break her heart when by rejecting her. At first, the story was going so well, with Makabe soon realising Adagaki is not as bad as she seems and starts to fall for her as it is. Soon finding that a fake "Masamune" comes and steals the show. It is then shown as how Adagaki had always loved Masamune and everything went poor from there. The anime adaptation was shorter than the manga, they should have shortened the story to Masamune going out with Adagaki in the end instead of the ending they had went with. This is more or less a rant, because the anime could have been better than what it is rated at this moment on IMDb.
Other than the rant the show was exceptional when it came to voice acting and the show portrayed the characters very well as all their personalities suited them very nicely. Just a disappointment at how the anime ended without Adagaki and Masamune never got together and how the anime ended in such a shambles.

If you are able to. There are so many dialogs that replaced with western ideologies that make the references to other anime and actual content silly and I think that's why the rating is low on here.
It's not great but neither is it bad.
It's a silly slice of life about a young girl hurt by a boy who things she hurt him and now she has gone off all males and treats then like trash and the boy who tries to make her fall in love with him just to break up with her to get his revenge.
Like I said, it's silly fun and definitely not boring.
Loved the reference to Goemon from Lupin the 3rd, in ep9. Except you wouldn't know it was there because the English dub writer ignored it or didn't know the iconic reference. Only in sub.

Well this is your typical Anime love story. Main character was fat then went away got hit and wants to get revenge on the girl that rejected him. Seriously how many animes are just like this one? You have your rich bit** who thinks she is so much better than everyone else. She even has slaves. Seriously in Japan do people really enjoy being slaves? I see so many anime where a character is a masochist. The cute maid slave girl apparently is a masochist because she just does whatever this girl says. I get she was basically born to be a slave, but seriously have some backbone.
This guy spent his entire life making himself smart and hot just to get his revenge. Honestly he could have just ignored her and went out with other girls. He could have joins clubs she was in but never talked to her. Any time he passed her he would just not notice her. She would have gone crazy. Then when he went into the shed where she stuffed her face like a pig. He should have said sorry I was looking for a bathroom. Since he was new. Then when he saw all the food she ate said something like "wow did I miss a party because their seems to be enough food for 10 here". If she got rude just quickly say if you keep being rude to me I will tell everyone about how you're little miss piggy and eat like a sumo. Then not give her a chance to talk and walk away. If she said anything rude just say "piggy says what?" Girls like her need to be treated like they treat others. So since she is super rude then everyone needs to be rude to her. Take her minions from her so she is left alone.
Let's face it the class rep is way hotter. Even the maid girl is hotter. But the hottest girl this far on the show is clearly the religious girl. Sorry but she goes commando. She wins hands down. Haha. Seriously though rude people are ugly people. I never got why masochist love rude and mean people. I don't understand why they enjoy being belittled and treated like scum. All that does is reinforce people who are scum to be even bigger pieces of scum. Just because someone got lucky and was born into wealth doesn't make them better than everyone else. It just makes them lucky enough to have parents with money. Unfortunately most rich parents raise horrible people. You have outliers but not many. Rich spoiled kids are rotten usually and not worth being around. I personally love people who are poor or middle class. People who know what struggles are and that life isn't perfect. People who aren't spoiled rotten and stuck up.
Lastly I have to ask. Why in the heck does the mother look like she is 12 years old? Seriously both the son and daughter are way taller and older looking. I had to rewind when she came in on episode one and said mother. I thought maybe she was joking and was a little sister acting like the mother. But after a few episodes she is the real mother. Which makes zero sense since she literally looks 12 years old. Plenty of Anime make hot moms but they are still older looking. This one looks like a child. It makes no sense at all.

I liked how we get to see a cute clever revenge type of an anime. Honestly Masamune is quite a clever buck who does know how to plan a revenge very well and this is regardless of Aki's strange cutesy maid going at him like a hawk! I really do wish we could see Masamune following Aki to Paris, the ending definitely didn't need a cliffhanger whatsoever!

UPDATE: The story is finally covered till the end with season 2. My original toughts about it do not change: Very nice.
I think this is a very well executed rom com, the way how the characters interact is not trivial and when you start watching you can not really stop.
The characters are in average not very clever yes, but keep in mind this is a rom-com not a drama or an opera, surely you will find Yoshino the most attractive as always one step above others.
There is only one thing which left me odd: sometimes Masamune ends up using special made-up sentences with girls and it's not clear to me the author point of view, if they are considered "good" or "bad", because sometimes they are not really good sentences and I have the feeling maybe the author think they are. I am neither Japanese nor American but I have been in UK/US and I don't think a girl would appreciate all of them.

You will be disappointed by the ending. The entire shows he is making progress toward his goal, just for the last 3 or so episodes to throw everything he has achieved up to that point out the window. Just as his goal is getting closer he gets set back further than he was to begin with and with only 3 episodes left he doesn't have time to bounce back and the show ended with him further from his goal than he was mid way through. The ending is just bad, however it could easily be fixed with a second season. A second season has not yet been confirmed however so you may watch this show and the terrible ending will be the last you ever see of it. If a second season does come the show should be much better but as it stands the ending is just awful and I wouldn't recommend anyone watch the show unless the second season has been released or is atleast confirmed to be in development. But untill we know for sure if a second season is coming I would stay away from this anime because it is extremely disappointing and has the worst ending I have ever seen.

Masamune a high school student swore to get his revenge on Aki Argaki after she rejected him. By doing so he loses a lot of weight and he becomes more thin and muscular he plans to make her fall in love only for him to dumb her.
I'll admit I do think there could be a lot more added to this anime like another season or sequel but I did enjoy it overall.
I thought the character designs and the art style really did a good job pulling me in. Even though I only watched it for Aki's body.
I also love the sound ttrack to this.
From my side it's a 9/10.

This anime Had the potential to offer a unique and compelling story. However, what could have been an intriguing exploration of personal growth, revenge, and self-discovery turned out to be a shallow and disappointing experience. Hm... Masamune Kuns Revenge. This is a classic romance anime with an interesting set up. As you'll see from the summery this show is about a boy who basically used to be chubby and picked on by this girl and now that he's hot and in high school wants to get his revenge. He wants to set her up as his girlfriend and then brake her heart. I think you can kind of get what happens. The cool thing about this anime is that the characters and comedy make it a worth while show! For twelve episodes they make a very cute collection of character development. I appreciate how Masamune himself isn't the usual good looking classic girly anime main boy. He has an awkward and caring side I appreciated. Over all I say go ahead and watch it! It's twelve episodes subbed and dubbed, and great for a binge watching day. Though it won't be your favorite I think you will enjoy it.

I like the anime its a good romance anime, I Highly Recommend you to watch this anime if you like Romance Anime's. Its kind of like when A Popular Rich Girl Falls in Love Unpopular Poor Boy. The Artstyle is good and The Soundtracks are also good.

Some people are dissapointed that in Episode 12 it just ends on a cliffhanger Before you complain the anime is a huge dissapointment and not a good anime i recommend you read Manga Chapter 30 to 56 because those are the Chapters that wasn't shown in Season 1 since there were only 6 Manga Volumes Adapted into the Anime i think there are still some enough Source Material for a Second Season but i dont know if the Studio will make a Season 2 since the Manga Ended in 2018. But still i highly recommend you to read the Manga Before you Complain about the Anime not Leading up to its Title.

Masamune kun no revenge is a great anime you just fall in love with. The great animation nice music amazing voice art amazing detailing in every short it'll connect you easily. Of course not many people can understand this show but this is so beautiful 😍😍😍😘 you should try it I promise you not gonna regret..

Imagine watching 12 whole episodes just to find out at the end both of the main characters barely developed anything with each other. Even the chick who had the med problems and almost was on the verge of dying(neko I think) was way better than the fmc and had more focus. She had a whole good backstory and here I was thinking they were gonna add some more development on why she actually was liked the mc and wanted to experience love with him before she dies one day from her condition but ofc it had to change focus onto side characters who just there to build the sub plots. Its a ehh anime nevertheless but definitely has a terrible ending or even a rushed build up to the ending since the writers realised neko wasn't the fmc of the anime and changed it completely with 2 terrible sub plots at t
he end that revolve around the main characters but do nothing at the end which makes you question the actual motivation of the mc.

This anime is about a boy that seeks revenge for a girl that used to call him a "pig" and you probably think "wow this is so generic" because it is more than generic, It's worse than that. It doesn't even stick to the fact that it's a "revenge" anime, it's just really cringey anime troupes formed in one.
Story: 2/10 No one really takes this plot seriously because it's so cliche, nothing really happens except the protagonist "teasing" the girl into falling in love with him and then rejecting her to feel cool because it's a "revenge".
Characters: 1/10 Everyone in this anime is pathetic, awful, a drooling retard, annoying, and dreadful. No anyone of them actually has a real personality and they feel like dolls. The protagonist is a narcissistic who does nothing interesting as being a romcom protagonist (not that surprising) but he's just really annoying. The main girl aki is also the generic silly "queen" type of girl that you need to work hard to get, instead she doesn't even know how to fall in love, and also.. she likes eating and 50% of her screentime is her just eating food haha how funny. The main antagonist is the worst one here, the most irritating fat kid that looks like that kid at a birthdays party that has a very punchable face. And neko, just a plot device to make you feel sad that she has a disease.
Art: 5/10 Nothing really serious, silver link did a pretty mediocre job on this.
Sound: 5/10 Also just nothing really good and bad, forgettable soundtrach, it's romcom afterall.

I reached a bit after half way through the 1st season and saw some mixed reviews. However I personally think it was great, if not awesome. It was heart worming and enjoyable. Well it just might be that I am only giving this review because I want to see the story end. Never the less, I loved the season and will be looking forward for the second one.

This story is actual based on reality when we truly love someone there's no going back that love will rapidly increase , infact that love created a hatred for other persons, if your lover leaves you, just like our cruel princess become after our lead character leaves her due to misunderstandings , in other hands we saw our lead character who trained himself just for revenge bcz once he loves the most to that girl.

I feel like animes that I watch need to be different and offer something unique for me to really like them, and I think Masamune-kun's Revenge does that. The premise that this guy would be scarred as a kid after being rejected, and then return in high school to get his revenge is very interesting to me, but how this show builds off of that and expands on its characters is what makes it great to me. Without spoiling anything, this show needs to be watched in its entirety before you judge it. In the second season especially, almost every episode changes the dynamic drastically for its characters. This worked for me, but I can understand if some viewers find it annoying or they didn't like the outcome; it's completely subjective. I highly recommend this show and although it feels complete as it is, I would be open to seeing more!
