Intense Political/Social Drama
Hitchcoc23 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The Silks are in an interchange. They are at the core of everything. The true differences involve the wives, one seemingly lying dead on the floor of her apartment; the other on life support in the hospital. Baldwin is the other focus. She is confused and uncertain, and yet driven by an almost inbred sense of revenge (or is it that she is more of an automaton?). It's going to be an interesting ride as we find out more about the motivations of this world.

The Lost Art of Diplomacy

Warning: Spoilers
Slow at times, but this episode also set the stage for a good path moving forward.

We need to see more of the other world and it looks like we will get to see that soon, but I also want the show to limit the political business a bit. Keep us going on the issue of Baldwin and why she is here, don't turn it into political posturing between the two worlds.

Airwolf - The Lost Art of Diplomacy
Scarecrow-882 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The results of "The Lost Art of Diplomacy" see Baldwin escaping capture (despite the protections in place that should have kept her from ever being freed) and Emily "Prime" coming over to Howard Silk's world with the purpose of speaking to her husband, Howard Prime, about how she was set up and to determine who is behind the contract killer, Baldwin. Before Baldwin is freed from Aldrich's security detail while in transport (big mistake), she does get to speak to Howard Silk, the two conversing about why he tried to prevent her counterpart (the violinist) from being killed by Aldrich's sniper. Silk still attends to the bedside of his comatose wife while her counterpart is left poisoned in an apartment with scattered pills as a staged reason for her demise. That was quite a tragic end but in the two alternate worlds where killers are being issued to take out agents, Emily's paralyzed state, eyes wide open, with no way to halt her inevitable fate just the latest casualty of all this. Silk's just a good man. He really is. And when Baldwin realizes Silk is a good man, clearly she just wants to get a full picture of who this man is. But Prime requesting Silk go over instead of him to other side gives me pause as it does Silk's superiors obviously...just seems like such a bad idea. But with strings being pulled as killers go about disrupting matters, moving to counterpart worlds by orders of a figurehead hiding in the shadows, Prime needs time to better understand what is going on. Poor Silk gets a new job but the satisfaction of finally achieving any success continues to be dealt a blow due to being dragged out of office into the field despite still remaining somewhat distanced from the complexities that exist within his company in regards to counterparts and hidden messages shared during correspondence as diplomacy between "both sides" starts to endure discomfort thanks to Baldwin's "mischief". Emily Prime's lover, Ian (Nicholas Pinnock) goes over with her to meet with Howard Prime, neither allowed to move about in the counterpart world, only to acquire intel...to say there are tensions would be an understatement. Richard Schiff remains a very busy man, introduced as a diplomat with plans to exploit Baldwin's capture, named Roland Fancher. Quayle gets very little effort from a prostitute before having to meet with Prime and Aldrich about how increasing problems make keeping relations between both sides extra difficult. Diplomatic relations and a body count on both sides adds intrigue, and with Baldwin freed again the death toll will more than likely continue to rise.

Diplomacy is the art of letting someone else have your way.

Warning: Spoilers
Baldwin is captured by the police, and now both sides want her - Alpha world wants to keep her, so they could learn why she was sent here. The Prime world wants to take her back before she could talk. Prime Emily gets her first visa into the Alpha world, and a little bit of the background of Alpha Emily is revealed.

'The Lost Art of Diplomacy' brings the game into the new heights as an ambassador and high-level diplomats are now mixed in. It seems the conspiracy to send Baldwin into the Alpha world was organized by someone from a higher power in the Prime world. And, like it is hinted, by the Prime Harold - the Alpha Agency might not be untouched by corruption itself. The third episode is the slowest one so far but at the same time, it leads the way where the show might be heading. The slow doesn't mean boring in this case. After the two episodes for setting the atmosphere and characters, this sort of big leap in the development of the story was needed.
