A winning team of a show

No, don't get this mixed up with that Walter Hill cult film. Miles apart here, where we have the next best thing. Once in a while, an new Aussie show will grab my attention, and folks, this is the new. As catching it, one Friday night, where luckily another episode aired next night, I took a shine to this new and very well made teen drama, that kicks shows like Blue Water High, out of the ballpark whatever. The show focuses on a group of young Melbournion footy lads, at the age where hormones are race, and emotions are flaring where they strive for their goals. We have human every day problems, where the show tackles very real issues, including a quite nasty racial vilification on one episode. The young players put in very good and very real performances, the red haired lad stays with me. They are very real characters, which is why we identify so well with em'. The older players, like the coach (the troubled Colosimo) the organizer (the great McCune) and as the tough, harsh, and grumpy, president (Howard, who fits the bill perfectly) is on spot, casting in a show that's a highly recommended winner, a great watch, especially if you're a footy player. We need more shows of this standard, aimed at our young audiences.
