The Free Nationals are back with their first new music in almost four years, and they’ve rallied an all-star collaboration for the occasion: The members of Anderson .Paak’s live band have recruited the singer and drummer himself for “Gangsta,” which also boasts a feature from A$AP Rocky. Stream it below.
The retro-soul track is a celebration of the funk sound that helped the four members of The Free Nationals establish a name for themselves. The accompanying visual marks the band as the latest to embrace AI in music videos — they’ve also shared an AI-based photo generator that turns interested users into similarly styled avatars to match the video’s aesthetic. The video was directed by Francois Rousselet, who has worked with The Rolling Stones, Jack White, and Pharrell in the past.
This April, The Free Nationals are set to return to the stage with .Paak during the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

Though the Red Sea Film Festival will feature a slew of films from the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region – including 11 feature films from Saudi Arabia – there is a rich roster of international fare set to launch locally from Jeddah.
Kaleem Aftab, the festival’s director of international programming, says they received lots more submissions for this year’s third edition. He is particularly proud of the presence in competition of Indian-born auteur Tarsem Singh’s romancer “Dear Jassi,” the first film set in India by the flamboyant director of “The Cell,” and of Japanese master Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Venice prizewinner “Evil Does Not Exist.”
Peppered through various Red Sea sections are the Mena region premieres of other high-profile titles such as Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla”; Belgian-based Moroccan duo Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah flashy third feature “Gangsta”; British director James Marsh’s biographical film about Irish playwright Samuel Beckett...

A true retrospective performance, the career-spanning setlist touched on all eras of Madonna’s career and featured numerous songs that hadn’t been performed in decades. Songs like “Justify My Love,” “Bad Girl,” and “Rain” were performed for the first time sine 1993, while “Bedtime Story” was dusted off for the first time since 1995. What defines a “Bad Boys” movie? It’s been 17 years since the last sequel came out, but some of the key elements are still easy to pin down: You need Will Smith as flashy Detective Sergeant Michael “Mike” Lowery, and Martin Lawrence as his slightly more sedate platonic life partner Detective Sergeant Marcus Burnett. You need Miami in all of its hyper-saturated splendor — nuclear orange skies, bikinis on the boardwalk, and a bass so thick that it seems to bounce the entire city. And you need an unfiltered mega-dose of whatever mutant testosterone has been oozing out of Michael Bay’s every pore since he first hit puberty. We’re talking all three of the big Gs: guns, gangsters, and gay panic. Maybe also some horny rats.
After that, things get a little hazy; “Bad Boys” once represented a watershed moment for black actors in the blockbuster era, but cops,...

To celebrate the home entertainment release of Gangsta, available on Digital HD 19th October and on DVD 29th October, we have a copy of the DVD up for grabs, courtesy of Signature Entertainment!
From the up-and-coming directors of Bad Boys for Life and rumoured to be attached to Beverly Hills Cop 4, a hapless group of underdogs bite off more than they can chew in a wannabe gangster story filled with outrageous humour and chaotic gangland violence alike.
Inspired by their experiences as Moroccans growing up in Belgium, El Arbi and Fallah pull no punches in lifting the curtain on not just the criminal underbelly of Antwerp’s drug trade, but also the prejudices ingrained in even those we’re supposed to trust, in this criminally hilarious gangster comedy. Clutching his Gucci cap like a treasured status symbol, Matteo Simoni’s lead performance imbues wannabe gangster Adamo with an adorable Ali...

The project has been long in development, so let's catch up with everything we know. Who will star? Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their roles as Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, respectively, police detectives in Miami. Who will direct? Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Nine months after it was removed from the release schedule, “Bad Boys for Life” is back on schedule as Sony Pictures gave the film a new release date: January 17, 2020.
This marks the latest chapter in the saga to bring a third “Bad Boys” film to the big screen, fifteen years after the release of “Bad Boys II.” After years in development hell, “Bad Boys III” was announced back in 2015, with action filmmker Joe Carnahan attached to direct and a release set for February 2017. But in 2016, the project was repeatedly moved back until Carnahan left the project in March 2017 due to scheduling conflicts. Sony removed the film from their schedule last August.
Now the threequel is back on schedule, with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah set to direct. The two Moroccan-born Belgians recently released the action thriller “Gangsta” and directed the first two episodes of the FX series “Snowfall.” Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are slated to return as Miami detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett.
Sony also set the release date for the true-story drama “You Are My Friend,” which stars Tom Hanks as “Mister Rogers Neighborhood” creator Fred Rogers. TriStar will release the film on October 18, 2019, with Marielle Heller (“Diary of a Teenage Girl”) directing from a script by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster.
The film tells the true story of Tom Junod, a cynical journalist who begrudgingly agrees to do a profile piece on Rogers, but finds his life transformed by the experience as he gains a life-long friend in the famous children’s TV star.

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are indeed back for Bad Boys 3! Here's everything we know about the new sequel...
Sony’s planned Bad Boys sequel, Bad Boys for Life, looks like it could be emerging from its most recent coma. After the project lost director Joe Carnahan earlier this year, a November 2018 release date (the latest of many) looked in doubt. That still may be the case, but the director situation may have been solved.
Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are directing. The pair is behind films such as Black and Gangsta, while also directing episodes of the FX drug drama Snowfall.

Bad Boys for Life is expected for release on January 17, 2020. That's a year later than expected, but it's better than nothing for whatever fans still remain of this long-hibernating series (we're not being snarky -- it's been a long...

Will Smith and Martin Lawrence could finally start filming Bad Boys 3 this coming August...
Sony’s planned Bad Boys 3 movie has had a bit of a bumpy road thus far. Originally planned for release this year (with the date having moved a few times) Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were both set to reprise their roles. But the project keeps hitting delays and, more recently, it lost its director too.
Joe Carnahan had been set to helm the film, working from his own screenplay. But he departed the project last March when he hit scheduling conflicts, and the film has stayed in limbo ever since.
Now though, it looks as if Sony is gearing up for another go at getting things moving. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are now said to be in negotiations to direct the film, Moroccan directors behind films such as Gangsta and Snowfall.

If you were to draft up a list of qualities of typically 'Belgian' films, you likely would end up with the description of something an entire world away from Adil El Arbi and Bilal Fallah's international breakout hit Black, which is almost crtainly as the duo intended. Essentially Romeo And Juliet remodelled as a bold and brash, youthful gangster tale amongst Belgium's immigrant communities, Black - the duo's second film - found great success on the international festival circuit, where it was considered a calling card for a forceful pair of new talents. And now El Arbi and Fallah are poised to return with their third effort, the simply titled Gangsta and they look poised to deliver exactly what the title promises: Not the serious...

Bad Boys 3, billed as Bad Boys for Life, will see Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back together in January 2020.
Bad Boys 3 or Bad Boys for Life, has been, up until now, a long-kept secret. The difficulty, as producer Jerry Bruckheimer said back in summer 2013, centered on the task of reuniting its duo headlining personnel. Back then, he was "trying to find a hole in Will Smith's schedule."
Having finally overcome dilatory issues, the long-awaited threequel revives the popular buddy cop film franchise of 1995's Bad Boys and 2003's Bad Boys II, both of which were directed by Michael Bay. While he ultimately dropped out of directing the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence revival vehicle, he would be replaced by a duo of up-and-comers in Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
Now, Bad Boys for Life, the third film in the series is ready to once again ask the ever-pertinent question,...
