Warning: Spoilers
And another year in the books. If you count Barry Allen's first ever appearance on Arrow all the way back in 2013, this would be the 5th crossover for the DC TV Universe. And now that it's all finished, I think this very well could be my favorite. Combining almost every character these shows have ever put to screen with the incredibly talented crew behind the screen, this two night event was nearly perfect. As I said last night, these events make sitting through hours of television every week worth it. I'll be forever grateful for that.

Now that we get that emotional statement out of the way, I guess I should jump right into the unexpectedly moving death of Dr. Martin Stein. Stein has been one of the elder statesman of this universe, being a prominent part of The Flash since season 1 and of course Legends since the very beginning. One would never have expected someone like Victor Garber to even consider being a part of one of these shows, and I think I speak for everyone in saying thank you for what he has provided. In terms of the execution, I was quite impressed with how well it was handled. I don't even consider myself a big fan of Legends, but the Jax-Stein bond has been special, and it was heartbreaking to see it go down the way it did. All Stein wanted to do was go home to his family.

Stein's death gave a weight to these episodes that I certainly wasn't expecting, and in that way made it even more satisfying when the team did eventually end up on top. But taking it back a notch here, the Legends finally appeared! Ray, Nate, Amaya, and Zari swooped in to help the team (probably a little too late) but it was nonetheless a needed time. Ray's intro stopping the Reverse Flash's knife? Come on, that's straight out of a comic-book strip.

That wouldn't be the last comic-booky thing to happen as we did get several big shots of the entire cast of the crossover lined up at the Waverider and the inevitable shot of them walking down a street towards their Nazi foes. Which also brings me to the incredible long take of Ollie fighting Nazi Oliver, Barry slow-motion (really fast motion) fighting Reverse Flash, Supergirl taking on Overgirl, Alex and Sara kicking a**, Heatwave and Cold teaming up, and everything else happening at once. That is a nerd's dream and it was executed so incredibly well. Oh, and Killer Frost bringing her Amaya and Zari up to the Waverider on an ice slide? Amazing.

After all the fighting and the Nazi's were removed from existence, it was time to finally take a second and get back to those vows from Barry and Iris. Only, they needed someone who is ordained to marry them. None other than John Diggle, who has been missing for an entire two nights, helped solidify their marriage, along with Oliver and Felicity's as well. Wow, I did not see that coming. Hopefully, this won't be retconned within the next few episodes of Arrow for some god forsaken reason. This relationship has had its serious issues, but at this point, let's just see where the marriage goes. And there was something so poetic about having (essentially) the 5 people who make this universe work, all in one scene together and in that way. Like it or not, the marriages are a huge moment for the Arrowverse. We'll see how that shakes out.

As a side note, I laughed audibly and loud when Diggle puked (again) from Barry's super speed. That will never get old.

Best!!

The best best best crossover ever! the drama is balanced with the existing war. which makes it interesting is each super hero has his or her own portion to show his prowess. Green arrow capabilities in leading the team, the speed of the flash, supergirl power, and the power of each legend make this crossover, I say as the best crossover. No one expected what it would be like. just enjoy the show.

Loved this show. Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
I normally watch only The Flash, but I do really enjoy the crossovers. They work great together as a team. Loved the double wedding at the end. Sad when Victor Garber character died. Jefferson though never able to muster up any tears. That was weird--he was trying hard though. Would like to see more crossovers. P.S. Steven Amiel knows how to play evil. I liked him as both good and bad Arrow.

An emotional ride
hawkins_saints_rock30 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I said it in the part 1 review, and I'll say it again. What an incredible two nights of TV! For me this crossover was everything I was hoping for and more. This review will be a little longer than my other ones, as I will review part 4 and then the crossover as a whole (will try to keep brief).

So we start right where part 3 finished, Stein has been shot. He is alive but badly bleeding and hobbles his way to turning on the breach, and while doing so is shot again. So the heroes escape Earth X and Stein + Jax merge to keep him alive. Right before this we also get an epic Barry and Ray (Earth X) team up to stop Red Tornado, some incredible CGI for a low budget network in that scene.

On earth 1, Ray, Nate, Amaya and Zari show up to help Kara and the heroes trapped in the pipeline. Seeing small Ray stopping Thawne's knife going into Kara was so awesome and funny. We then get an awesome scene of each Oliver threatening to kill the other ones love, which ends in a stand off as RF comes along and grabs his two then leaves, as we learn that Jax is also dieing because of his connection with Stein.

All heroes then go on the waverider for a team meeting of sorts. And oh man it was so cool seeing all the heroes from all the shows on the waverider together, so awesome. It is at this stage that we learn that evil Kara is a bomb because of her condition. She is set to go supernova. And right before we get our massive endgame fight scene, we get probably the most emotional scene in the 6 years of the Arrowverse ever. It's hard to put into words just how emotional watching Stein beg Jax to let him take the vile to split their DNA, which would kill him. Both were in tears (me too) as Jax barely had the strength and will to hand Stein the vile. To make this scene even more emotional, the talk about fatherhood was hauntingly beautiful. I must commend both Victor Garber and Franz Drameh on their incredible performances during this scene.

Then finally, the fight scene. What an incredible fight it was. It had everything that it needed to and more, with Barry and Thawne facing off super speed style, Kara vs. Kara in the air, and Oliver vs. Oliver on the ground, as well as the other heroes tearing through Nazi's. It was honestly so fun to watch. In the end evil Kara explodes at a safe distance, Oliver kills his evil doppelgänger, and Barry beats Thawne but let's him go. It was also fitting to once again see Barry's struggle of the "do I" vs "don't I" of killing Thawne.

The episode ends with firstly, Snart saying he's sticking around on Earth 1 (back on Legends??). Secondly, another extremely emotional scene with Stein's funeral and Jax's speech. And finally, the marriage of both Barry and Iris, and Oliver and Felicity. A fitting end to an incredible crossover.

10/10

OK so for my brief overall thoughts on the crossover. As you can already tell I had an absolute blast watching this years crossover, as I found it even better than last years. I think where it improves on last years crossover is the villains. Sure the dominators were cool but they had no substance and dialogue to them. So having the villains be evil versions of our heroes (+ Thawne = awesome) was sooo much better as it allowed for great interactions between the heroes and villains, and we even had scenes of just the villains, something that was missing from last years crossover. If I'm forced to say something negative about the crossover (and I'm being really knitpicky here), it would be that the Oliver/Felicity drama went on too long. But it got resolved the correct way in the end. Hoping for another crossover in the back half of the season, whether it's Flash/Supergirl or Flash/Arrow (would much rather Arrow). But if not it was a hell of a ride. Can't wait til next years.

Great show, why so much vitriol?
hollybeat27 December 2019
To the people who keep saying "I hate these crossovers ", you never read comics did you? And to the ones screaming "left wing this , conservative that" , you never read comics did you? The Justice League like team ups are awesome and those of you hating on them are in the minority, suck it up and for just once a year watch the other shows, it won't kill you. And as far as the political stuff, Antifa or whatever, there was a Nazi controlled earth in the comics long before Trump, Antifa, or Maga were even a thought in anyone's narrow minded head..this is a great story, quit complaining and enjoy it.

Justice League Triumphant
hellraiser714 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Warning do not read unless seen episode.

Yo Joe! Duke from G.I. Joe

This is part four of the crossover and it doesn't disappoint as it is just an array of emotions.

The beginning half of the episode I'll admit was sad, probably one of the saddest moments in my book. We see things aren't looking good for Professor Stein, despite Jax's efforts in keeping Stein alive it's only delaying the inevitable. The final moments with Jax and Stein were touching and sad as Stein asks him to let him go so Jax can live on, and Jax has to say goodbye. The moment when Stein passed away and Jax broke down, that was about the same time I broke down and cried.

And we see how the Stein's death didn't just affect Jax but has affected every other character in Stein's life. From Barry and Iris, Cisco and Katelin. We see a scene with the rest of the legends in the scene Ray looking at a photograph of both him and Stein dressed as cowboys together and you see the look on his face there may 'be a tear or two that came down, you even see the sad looks on the faces of Maya, Suri and Sam I'll admit seeing the looks on the team really hammered in the fact a member of their family is lost. But it got even more painful when Jax had to deliver the bad news to Stein's family and they all cried together. These scenes just go to show how important Stein truly was and how the loss of one person can affect so many.

The tragedy of course just fuels the fire for the "Justice League" and now it's a raging inferno. As we see everyone is dressed up preparing for final combat. Really like some of the small speeches and lines people have delivered before battle. From Oliver having a final conversation with his evil counterpart saying one of my favorite quotes in the episode, "You know the difference between you and me is I don't abandon my friends." And another from Sarah where she says, "For the Professor, now let's kick some ass." Well said both of you.

The final fight at the end was just great, really loved the cinematography shot as we see all the heroes in one shot walking together which I thought was a beautiful shot as it's the Justice League walking to fight against the army of darkness.

The battle doesn't disappoint as everyone has their share of ass to kick. From seeing Mr. Terrific use his sphere and Ray/The Atom was on it and he was flying around zapping Nazis. Cisco and Wells both run air support and are in hot aerial pursuit in the wave rider toward the Nazi wave rider.

And of course, we see each of the main heroes paired off against their evil counterparts one last time from Supergirl. It was funny and cool when Supergirl says the famous quote from "Superman 2". And of course, both good and evil Supergirl are just whacking and blasting away at each other from the sky. The Flash and Reverse Flash are chasing and punching each other out. Good and Evil Green Arrow are beating the crap out of each other.

We get down to the funeral for Stein which was sad but touching as every says their goodbyes. Really like the eulogy that Jax gives, even like the fact Stein's daughter named her son Robbie. This shows both Robbie and Stein just like every hero of legend won't be forgotten but also their legacy will live on in all of them.

It then gets down to the wedding it's a double wedding as we see both Barry and Iris along with Oliver and Felicity tying the not together which I thought was sweet, I wish both couples the best.

Out of tragedy can triumph, but also love in the end truly conquered all.

Goodbye, Nazis!
lassegalsgaard-4528428 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
One of the things that has been great so far with this entire crossover is the intense desire from the writers to make all the characters feel coherent with the shows they came from. The writers of the individual episodes did such an amazing work on the characters as they managed to make them all feel like they were pickpocketed out of their own shows. I also really enjoy the use of the different characters they chose to appear. It felt right for them to be in the environments they found themselves in, and the funny banter between them all was definitely a highlight for me. I think overall, this has been the most coherent crossover that we have had at this point. They managed to up the ante from last year, which was also very big.

This is the first episode where we see the majority of the Legends. Most of them have been left out up until now. It felt right that they weren't in the previous episodes, and their introduction in this final part felt so natural. It was also fun to see how many elements from their show was used in this episode, because the episode didn't feel like it was a "Legends of Tomorrow" episode. The goofy nature of that show was not in this episode, which I think was a wise decision because it helped the episode balance a little better, especially in comparison with the preceeding three episodes.

I loved how emotional the episode was. It continued the storyline of Dr. Stein being shot, and of course, we know that his death was the way Victor Garber got to departure the show. That was a bold decision, and in the end, I think it paid off. I wanted to see him go have a normal life, so they could be able to bring him back in the future, but the way they had everybody react to his death, was what sold me on the decision. With that added emotion, I also think the performances got a lot better than they usually were. Garber has always been one of the best actors on the show, but he definitely showed that in his final moments, as well as Franz Drameh, who found a great balance in expressing the right emotions.

The final battle sequence was awesome. It was so cool so see everybody have a moment to shine throughout the battle. Whether it was Oliver fighting off his evil doppelgänger, or if it was Mick and Leonard finally sharing a good action scene again. I also liked the budget they put into the fight, because it looked really good, so I bet they had to get out the big money in order to get this entire crossover financed.

I only had a couple of problems. Like the first episode, this one seemed a bit inconsistent. They have done such a big deal with Barry's speed and how he is now the fastest speedster in the world. However, during his fight with Eobard Thawne, they seemed to run at equal speed. Barry should have easily been able to take care of Thawne without even breaking a sweat.

Going off on that, I am done with Eobard Thawne in this universe. His entire arc after Season 1 of "The Flash" has made little sense as he shouldn't even be alive, and then, after "Legends of Tomorrow" when he was apparently erased from history, he somehow managed to return again. The writers are putting too much faith into this character, and I am a little bit sick of it.

Martin and Jax, Mick and Leo, Leo and Ray v. Olicity, WA, DA/OG
imakk200129 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Hats off to Victor Garber and Franz Drameh for Martin's heartwrenching final scene with Jax. The last time I fugly cried like this was Nora and Barry in the S1 finale. The two death scenes are what DCCWverse is capable of at their best: pulling honest emotions from the viewer. Still. Why the heck can't Martin be allowed to retire and spend his remaining years with Clarissa, Lily and little Ronnie?!

Mick's humor was sorely needed after part 3, and he didn't fail. He and Leo hit it off perfectly. They might be from different Earths, but Cold and Heatwave still got it. Is it me or is Leo staying to get Mick to become a law-abiding citizen? Hoping that while Capt. Cold is gone, Citizen Cold might be appearing again.

Leo and Ray was a surprise: they weren't written as the typical CW pairing full of juvenile navel-contemplation, so that makes them light years better than Olicity, WA and even DA/OG.

Then there's the rest of the ep.

I hope this is the last time we see Tom Cavanagh's RF, because that well has run dried. RF came across as one-note; there's no depth to him. He wasn't even villainous, he was just another bad guy. His role could have been played by a no-name Earth-X scientist and it would have been the same. And Barry letting him go?! WHY?! Since we're not sure where in the timeline he's from, we have no clue if it's because Barry has to let Thawne play out his role in the timeline or if Barry is just that stupid. I'm going with the latter.

Another sign there wasn't enough plot for a 4-show crossover: the amount of relationship fillers which were boring, bringing the crossover to a screeching halt every time they're on screen. They made Sara's pragmatic outlook a breath of fresh air, likewise Leo and Ray sensible relationship. They're mature adults while the others are whiny, overgrown teenagers. And that double wedding just felt vapid after Martin's funeral.

Diggle: I can't believe he was completely sidelined until he was needed to marry the 4 nimrods. He didn't even get an invite but Barry and Iris want him to marry them now. Riiiiight.

Kara: is it me or was she sideline a lot for this crossover? That whole back and forth captured, escaped, surrendered, rescued got boring fast.

Big rescue and fight were a big meh, except for the Legends during the rescue and KF/Amaya/Zari boarding evil Waverider.

This crossover was better than the Invasion which was a low bar. It started with a bang and while it didn't end with a whimper, it could have been better. It did open up a couple of interesting possibilities, and there will be repercussions as opposed to everyone back to normal like previous crossovers.

Score: 7.5

Includes The Full Crossover.....
Honesticedragon694 August 2022
The Good= To start off I Just Absolutely Loved how this Crossover it had not only Action (Duh) Comedy but also there was a Dash of Drama in there as well. That was a Great Change In My Opinion. Then the next is that it was kind of nice to see the very Brief return of one of the characters albeit a deferent variant of. Just absolutely Love, Love, Love that little twist near the end I'm always a sucker for that kind of twist. The look and the Feel of Earth-X I thought felt very unique I terms of the people and the Erath itself. For once it's not a Happy Go Lucky Earth that Resembles Earth One at the time just slightly altered. The Climax Fight Great Too, especially when it comes to our normal Heroes Verses Their Earth-X Counterparts. I also feel the Team Up Between Alex and Sara in the Church Fight Scene was a that I didn't know that I wanted but glade it happened. They where really great together just wished it would have happened a little more especially now that Supergirl is finished. There's something about that The Morning of the First Wedding Scene that gives it that 'The Calm Before The Storm' Feeling, and in turn it some how it gives me that waking up and need to get ready for a wedding myself kind of feeling if that makes any sense. I just couldn't say Enough Good Things about this Crossover. Aside that everything was well Balanced for this Crossover, but I guess you could already guessed by now.

The Bad= As much as I Love this Crossover and as Awesome this Crossover was there are still a few issues about it that I'm not too happy about. The first must be that end scene where Barry and Iris decided to try getting marry again but on a much less grander fashion. For me it just doesn't feel like Felicity at all. Because right before when both Barry and Iris was about to tie the knot Felicity stops it and turns to Oliver and asked him if he wants to get marry right then and there as well, it's like she has this secret rivalry with Iris for no apparent reason. Hare's how I would have done it, okay Barry and Iris Exchanged Vows and the works the Crossover Ends with both Felicity and Oliver walking away with Felicity asking Oliver if he wants to get marry and we as the audience to get to hear Oliver's answer as the Screen Blacks Out, and save the Oliver and Felicity wedding for the Christmas Episode of that season's Arrow, and have it done in the montage fashion, before we pick it up with the Reception. Anyways the next problem I had with it is that Originally the Earth-X Baddies traveled to Earth-1 in search of this powerful object that only can be found on Earth-1 but that quickly disappeared and the goal of the Earth-X Baddies changed and became something deferent just as quickly. And so when The Reverse Flash Scolded both Overgirl and Black Arrow for breaking Script doesn't mean much. And that powerful Object that they where supposed to be looking for wasn't mentioned again.

And I just hate the fact that Supergirl basically became the 'Damsel In Distress' regardless how powerful she is half way through the Crossover, she even had to be rescued by a male hero. And that brings me to my final point I found that Pun about Nat Being 'The Man Of Steel' or whatever, is one not like him it feels off character, two feels just shoved in there just because they wanted to add a Superman Easter Egg in the Crossover. And Three feels stupid to be blunt even for not only a DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Character but also for the DC's Legends Tomorrow being the Final Part of the Crossover where finally the rest of the DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Heroes could finally join the fight and the rest of the Crossover.

Final Thoughts= Beautifully and almost Perfectly Crafted and Done. Still Remains My Favorite and Best Crossover Ever. Even More than the Mini Musical Crossover Episode 'Duet' from The Flash Season 3.

No idea what this episode was all about, but given other reviews it probably made sense if you happen to hit the sweet spot of matching up all other series. For those who didn't, it was pretty much a waste of time.

Total Confusion
juliandigbybottin25 June 2022
I absolutely love this show, but every once in a while it punishes those who do not watch the other shows in this "universe" (this time much worse than any before). I am not generally a fan of super hero TV shows or movies, but the time travel aspect got me interested and then I got hooked. I am not going to watch the other shows in this "universe", I have tried and just can not get into them. I wouldn't mind these crossover episodes if they let viewers know what was going on and gave some backstory for those of us who don't watch the other shows that the crossover combines with....to those of us left in the dark, this episode felt like a fever dream. The sad part about this is the community will downvote this review more than upvote it, even though I am right and the writers should have done more to fill in the blanks to those not familiar with the other shows.

Far far left writers, filled with conservatives are Nazi references.
jasonbourne-0227213 August 2018
Riddled with Nazi bad guys, with their slogans of "Make America Aryan Again", using Antifa (Far Left Hate Group) slogan of "Punch a Nazi" over and over and over.. (a dog whistle for attacking conservatives). Tired of politics and anti-conservative messages, and outright calls for violence against them.

Additionally, earlier the "Nazi' version of super girl explains that they are more powerful because of Meritocracy.. because .. you know, capitalism is evil and should be associated to Nazi's.

I'm done with this show and the CW Television Network.
