Though one has to have respect for the main character, Frank, I wish this series was without him. He 'rolls' in the way.
The BBC found it a great idea to develop something for a dude that wishes to go bird spotting in the jungle in a wheelchair. Sounds great, it isn't. The words colonial p*ick came to mind. His story is in Saudie where he got shot 6 times. Now that's an interesting story to tell. A high tech, expensive, expedition that requires people to carry a person through the jungle is not. That's just idiotic and all the bits where Frank talked about himself were a waste.
Benedict Allen however is the interesting character. This series should have been about him returning after 30 years and the bird element could have been easily combined. What Benedict has experienced is absolutely amazing and truly a great story.
