"Raid The Cave" doesn't start off that great, but it ends on a very high note. We get to see Star try to get her spell book back. She finally meets up with the book's guardian Glossaryck who simply tells her that he serves whoever owns the book, which is now Ludo. I really do like this scene at the end where she's nervous about talking to her parents to confess that she lost it, but her parents understand her. It is a pretty moving moment. We get this great ending where we see Star opening a paper notebook and simply deciding to make her own book of spells. That really shows how dedicated she is. ***1/2
"Trickstar" may in fact be my least favorite episode because I think it ends on a pretty bad note. It features this magician who's a joysucker who well, sucks people's joy when he does his tricks. At the end of the episode, he actually gets away with it and people are mad at Star! I do think that was a disappointment because it was kind of sending a negative message. Still, the magician was voiced by Weird Al Yankovic and I simply can't hate anything that has that guy's voice in it! I'll give this a 7/10. ***
