It was ordinary citizens from Rostock-Lichtenhagen who gave vent to their pent-up hatred and frustration in the summer of 1992. Hatred of the ZASt, the Central Reception Center for Asylum Seekers, which was located in the middle of their neighborhood, and frustration at the inaction of the politicians in the city and state, who had been fobbing off the residents with empty phrases for months.
