The Count Combines Education and Platforming
Sesame Street Countdown is one of the good educational game I have played. This game is an educational game that plays a lot like a platformer in the vein of Super Mario Bros. In this, you play as The Count (a.k.a. Count Von Count), Sesame Street's favorite number-obsessed vampire, as you play through eight levels set in different locations like Sesame Street, an amusement park, outer space, and even The Count's own castle. The aim of each level is to collect a certain amount of a number chosen from a wheel at the start (which ranges from 1 to 10), and you only get a limit to how many you can get wrong before you game over (yep, this is an educational game where you can get a game over).
So for gameplay, the game has two modes, Hop Mode and Run Mode. Hop Mode is basically a hard mode as the Count can only hop, causing him to miss the right number or grab the wrong number, so Run Mode is the mode for younger players. One of the best things about this game is The Count actually talks (voiced by the late Jerry Nelson, who performed and voiced the character at the time), and the controls are actually good (Count even does the Mario jumping pose). However, older players will be bored easily due to it being the same eight levels with the same objective, but the game has various hidden stuff like bonus games and even warps that take you to another level.
