David O. Dodd was an Arkansas teenaged civilian arrested and tried as a spy for the Confederacy in 1863. In this low-budget film Dodd is tried by a tribunal of Federal officers, most of whom have pronounced Southern accents. This piece is obviously an attempt at justifying the actions of "The Boy Martyr of Arkansas" filmed by Southern revisionists still determined to legitimize the Antebellum south by finding heros where none exist.

Fantastic.

I really enjoyed this movie. I accidentally ordered it on Amazon prime and watched it throughout. In college I produced a couple of low budget films and really appreciate them. The storyline is literally the courtroom dialogue, nothing else. My favorite part has to be the end where they share a somber moment describing the execution of this man, followed by the blooper outtakes.
