Did not get me in the groove

"Gunter Babysits" is an American 3-minute animated short and a little add-on to the release of the famous recent Golden-Globe nominated film "Sing". This one here features a grown-up male pig babysitting a whole lot of tiny piglets, so the parents can enjoy the night out. In here you get lots of piglets, lots of music, lots of candy, but sadly not lots of fun or entertainment factor. The mere quantity joke of the number of piglets was already used in the movie and there is nothing else this short film has to offer. It also feels a bit rushed. Co-writer and co-director is Eric Favela and here we see an addition to his work outside the Despicable Me universe for what he is probably most known for. But even I as a fan of Sing, definitely one of my 5, maybe 3, favorite animated films from last year, must say that this was a really underwhelming add-on. The plot twist that he is starting the music and not calling the mother was as boring as the way the sweets were depicted which could have been far memorable looks-wise. Animation isn't bad, but there is nothing memorable about this short. I give it a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
