As Robert Chesney (played by Bill Camp) carries the confiscated personal computer, keyboard, and monitor in the hallway of the local embassy, you can see what appears to be a set of pads or adhesives holding the keyboard onto the main computer, apparently to prevent the equipment from slipping off or moving around during filming. However, such a precaution also makes sense within the context of the series.
In the opening scene in Nairobi, a man is seen wearing the Chelsea football club's away jersey. This jersey was released for the 2012/13 season, much after the scene, which was set in 1998.
While set in 1998 there is clearly visible a new generation MINI parked on the street near the American Embassy, Nairobi. This model was, however, launched in 2001.
One World Trade Center can be seen in the background.
