What?

I don't necessarily disagree with some of the points made in this episode, but the musical number and the ice cream skit were distasteful and downright inappropriate. The whole episode is very hard to watch. It's pretty damn good cringe material, though, if you're into that sort of thing.

Just plain awful
insane-3498816 May 2017
I couldn't make it past 5 minutes without cringing. I decided to skip through the stupid parts (especially the god awful rap). Who agreed this was a good idea? Like seriously nobody reviewed the episode after making it? It's an extremely sad way to end a career for Bill Nye. Even though he has zero credentials in anything related to science at least in his first TV show he had good writers, now this is just terribly bad...

save your self some time

I first watch this episode because I had seen comments about it on the internet. When it got to the part with the "rap" I shut it off in 3 seconds. later I got drunk to see if I could actually watch it all the way through and my drunk self could still not make it through the "rap". Overall this shows only purpose is to push agendas so don't even waste your time it will just end up pissing you off in the end.

Prison time
peeweekeep19 July 2022
Ill be brief. Anyone who participated in this episode should face actual prison time. It's just that bad I feel that jail is the only solution. There's a song towards the end that is the most cringe content that's every been produced in the history of the earth.

A good way to break down gender and sexuality.

A lot of the reviews I've seen here complain about "an agenda" being pushed on people. Personally, I felt this topic was discussed independent of any political motivation.

Having said that, this series at large, and this episode specifically, are not targeted at the same audience as his last show, so some innuendo and more adult themes are expected. While I would've liked to see some sources (an example of good citation on TV can be seen in Adam Ruins Everything), it was helpful that he did interview experts.

This show takes topics that are fairly complex and presents them in an easy-to-digest format. With any sort of fact-based show like this, the real struggle is making dry facts interesting, and the writers did an excellent job with this show.

Watch this with an open mind, and feel free to fact-check it on your own. Don't forget that there are people who are gay, or bi, or trans, and this episode tackles that topic unabashedly and honestly.

Insighting

The episode really explains what most people are talking about when they speak about gender identities. I didn't understand at first but I realize science is always changing and evolving as we learn more. I finally had to put my past beliefs and hard headedness behind me and really be open minded to this idea. I was glad after I did.

If you didn't watch...you don't get a say!

Are you looking for a very interesting and comprehensive view of sex, sexuality and gender? Do you do better with visuals vs concepts? Do you need to see how culture plays in to (or even controls) how we see these things? Then this show is for you! You don't have to believe every thing you see. However, I personally think it makes a difference to at least LISTEN to what they are saying. The inclusion of South Korea (where I was an Expat for 6 years) is spot on.

If you do in fact watch it, please do me a PERSONAL and PROFESSIONAL favor....RATE THIS SHOW. Right now there are a lot of ALT Right/Ultra Conservative people who have left comments that brought the rating down well beyond what it was worth. Do you have to like the whole thing? NO. You don't. But at least rate it for it's contribution to the SOCIAL SCIENCE and the SEXUALITY RELEVANCE.

Give it a try. This is not an "agenda". There have ALWAYS been people who have experienced, expressed and enjoyed sexual diversity and gender variance. The "label" doesn't matter. They are all social constructs. HOWEVER THEY HAVE ALWAYS ALWAYS EXISTED. So please at least make it through the episode. It's only 30 minutes. You might walk away challenged....but at least walk away INFORMED ENOUGH TO BE CHALLENGED.

Quirky basic primer, informative and fun
jenk-4141712 October 2021
A really nice primer on the topic of human sexuality and gender. Quirky, funny, corny, and packed full of scientific information. Some folks might find it a little uncomfortable to talk about anatomy, but I think they should just get over it.

This episode is not what I was expect so I had to watch it twice, but I'm extremely glad I did. I feel like more people need to see this content and learn about these topics.
