Prime Minister Berg has sex with his aide Anita Rygh in Sweden. Later he plays a combat video game, she wonders if he ever plans to return to Norway. It's been nine months and the Free Norway campaign has not gone well. Another man, Anders Knudsen is now the PM in Norway. Berg goes back to the video game.
Anita leaves later with a suitcase, she's not ready to move in.
Berg meets Johnny Eknes in a Park, the young man is Coast Guard and reports the Russians are mobilizing warships and missiles for a strong defense. Berg says sorry but he can't help, the Norwegians no longer have a resistance leader.
Back in Oslo, an explosion rocks the palace gardens. Anita arrives back in the Capital.
Two men play a video shooter game in a barn-like cottage, Col. Vold updates Berg via the player-to-player comms link. Berg is still leading the resistance.
In Government House Anita gets an update from another staffer, Lukas Pedersen and goes in to see Anders Knudsen, the new PM.
Armed troops surround the barn. Hans Martin Djupvik watches on video. Martin, now the Director, gives a press briefing. Martin then goes to Anita, angry about the moves on Vold, he realizes it was her plan. He calls her incompetent.
Eknes goes to a bar, young men are chatting and joking about the Vold arrest. A woman leads him outside, then shows him a video message from Berg, asking him to get proof about the Russian Navy. Players 289 and 686 plan a fake Wenche Arneson message for the next day.
Lt. Eknes leads a Coast Guard team to a gas plant, they demand a look in some sea cans. A Russian soldier unlocks a container, Eknes is shot as he swings the door open.
Russian Ambassador Irina Sidorova meets Anders and Rygh, they watch the video of the container incident, the Norwegians are upset the Russians have brought in cruise missiles. Sidorova replies Russia has the right to do so, she also claims Norwegian Armed Forces have active resistance members. During the meeting phones buzz with messages. The Norwegian Navy is attacking the island gas plant. A submarine surfaces and races towards land.
Arneson's online post goes viral. The Norwegian Cabinet meets, the commandos are going to get Eknes and his men, held captive. The Russians are sending helicopters to the remote island base. A firefight is underway, Eknes, with a bloody gut wound is loaded on a helo and medevac'd out with other Coast Guard men.
Ingrid Bø updates Djupvik on the search for Arneson, the pastor is the lead.
The EU Commissioner calls the Cabinet, Knudsen says a few Russian workers are dead but Russia caused it. The two Generals demand to know when Eknes and his team will be released, Anders doesn't back them up. The EU tells Anders to pull out of the gas plant.
In a limo Knudsen is perplexed, he can't go against his own military who seem to be acting on their own. He stops the car to get fresh air having a mild panic attack. Back in the car Anita urges him to take action against their own Generals but he doesn't want to appease the Russians, it didn't work for Berg. She warns him the alternative is war.
A Russian VIP goes to see Sidorova to discuss developments. They will not be releasing the Coast Guard men.
Anders tells the Parliamentary President Roger Bull he is resigning, but will stay until they find a replacement.
Anders then takes Anita for a trip, he has something planned with the Attorney General.
Martin joins Bø interviewing the Pastor, they want Wenche Arneson and use the Minister's son,who has legal troubles, as leverage.
Anders brings Anita to a secret Cabinet-in-Exile Meeting. Berg is there. Outside in the garden he says he has worked it all out with the King, apologizes for keeping it secret from her. She wonders about her role.
The Pastor takes Martin to a rock garden and admits Arneson is dead, her ashes have been spread. The Minister tells Djupvik to stop arresting innocent people, the cop angrily replies hundreds have already died.
Anita is upset she doesn't have a Cabinet post. She is also upset the commandos will continue to fight at the gas plant. She leaves and takes a train home alone.
The next day she goes to Parliament and delivers a letter to Roger Bull. She paces nervously and receives a text Arneson is dead. President Bull and three others sit down with Rygh, they want her as PM. She goes home to her mother's house to talk over being PM. Berg calls her, puzzled why the President didn't accept his plan. She lets him know about being PM, he puts her down as not ready for it, she hangs up.
The next day she takes over the PM office, Lukas Pedersen is her aide. Her first business is to rip into Djupvik a new one for wasting time looking for a dead person.
Next she meets Sidorova and says remove the cruise missiles. Anita is stubborn also wanting the Coast Guard returned, Sidorova finally agrees. Anita then tells the Generals the Russians are turning back their Navy and to stand down the commandos. The TV news reports the tense situation is over, Rygh is interviewed. Berg and his Cabinet watch, he says grimly her term will be the shortest in history.
