This show was known for having few recurring characters, but one of the exceptions was this eccentric Scotsman warrior with a machine gun for a leg. We actually get to see him confront Aku and we all know he gets blown to pieces instantly. Still, he does come back as a ghost encouraging his allies to help Jack and defeat Aku. Ashi gets more character development as Jack literally shows her that Aku is a liar. We see this one great tree in a once beautiful forest. It's great to see him gain an ally, dare I say a sidekick.
The scenes where Ashi is being tortured are so intense. I mean, it doesn't show any graphic depiction of blood but you totally feel how compelling the scenes are where she's getting electrocuted. I was so happy when she broke from her restraints. This episode features her and Jack stumbling across a place where children of some species have been brainwashed into becoming soldiers. Jack thinks they're dead at the end, but Ashi luckily finds that they're still alive. It's interesting to see Jack flat out admit that he has idea how to beat Aku. ***1/2
