Amateure

Warning: Spoilers
It is a lower-budged amateurish production with "aspiring" tier of the acting quality. It's somewhere in between a higher quality student film and a lower quality cable movie.

The home-video sound mixing is worse than in big-channel YouTube videos. The ADR doesn't even match.

The cinematography is trash. They have a primitive story, and tell it badly, but to make a mystery out of it they show it out of the chronological order with zero indication of it being the case.

The pretentious meaningless writing that adds up to nothing thinks it's very smart. The characters speak in self-important unriddles pretending that if you don't understand the depth of that childish unpoetic mumble it's your fault for being too dumb.

Accent Molehill

To donnagray519 I disagree with you about the accents matter. There are some people born elsewhere who live in USA, whether because they go to school in the States, have family there, have found a better job. Of course they would not speak English with a Yankee accent unless perhaps they acquired it after many years. One need not assume that any and all characters in a film set in the USA are American nationals. Or, that an explanation in the story is needed to tell the audience where any "foreign" sounding character is from. The USA is a cosmopolis.

Hire a Voice Coach

Marcus is supposedly grew up in the US. Finally after hearing the actor's numerous stumbling pronunciations, I checked the actor's bio and learned he is from the UK.

Then the actress playing Laura has a thick eastern Euro accent and I checked her bio out also. Yugoslavian born. At least Marcus tries to hide his accent but this actress is beyond hope-or talent.

I like accents but when actors speak with them and there is no good explanation such as the characters attending boarding schools abroad, worked overseas, or even a canker sore that impedes speech, the entire film lacks credibility.

Good story but not very well directed and cast.

I agree with others who think unexplained foreign accents matter. I'm on this page now because half way through the film I stopped focusing on how beautiful Leona Paraminski is and started focusing on her accent instead, which needless to say took me out of the film. Same could be said for one of the leads played by Tom Wisdom. Made me curious about where this film was produced, cast, and shot; enough so to bring me here. Bottom line, you can't drop a beautiful woman with a foreign accent into an American movie without a backstory.

That said, I liked the story...a lot. Unfortunately it didn't have the financing, casting, production value, or director needed to make it a really good movie.
