A Maiden's Voyage (2004)
*** (out of 4)
This thirty-six minute interview with Matt Cimber, Millie Perkins and Dean Cundey has them talking about their 1976 film THE WITCH WHO CAME FROM THE SEA. Cimber starts off talking about how he got involved with the picture and what he thought about the screenplay. Perkins, who was dating the screenwriter, talks about how various issues at home had her needing to make the picture. Cundey talks about getting involved with the film and how he talked the director into shooting the film in the scope aspect ratio. Other subjects deal with the production, the reaction that the film got including Jack Nicholson who Perkins began dating and of course questions about what the title means. If you're a fan of the film then you'll certainly enjoy this documentary as there are plenty of very good behind-the-scenes stories. Even better is the fact that we get some very good details about the making of the picture and how it eventually became a cult film.
