What can you say?

Warning: Spoilers
I've purposely waited until I've seen the majority of episodes before giving a review. The first episode was almost surreal, I felt like I'd stepped into a parallel universe, Pamela Anderson being the only other person from the same planet. It has improved, and has cheered up my Saturday Nights, the format is utterly insane, I find myself enjoying the characters interplay more then the game show/interview format, the jokes are corny as always, but delivered in a way that makes me laugh. Something almost old fashioned, but somehow comforting about the show, it's delivering humour I'd have had growing up as a young kid in the 1908's, gone forever I'd thought, but not. It's doing pretty well in the ratings, getting six million plus week on week. Six million people can't be wrong, can they?

When there's nothing else to do on a Saturday Night, a glass of red wine, and this will fit the bill, but no longer then six weeks please. 6/10

I like it.

I'm sure most people won't like this show because it's not the same old show that they loved so much. They don't understand how hard it is to write a hilarious sitcom for so many years.I'm sure Brendan O'Carroll wanted to end the show before it got bad but at the same time he was probably being offered tons of money to continue. So he took the high road and made something a little different. The reviews that say it isn't funny are just plain wrong.Dermot and Buster's tours are hilarious and everything Winnie says makes me laugh.I even enjoy Cathy's talk show and I've never even heard of any of her guests, except Pamela Anderson and Lulu(and Lulu looks amazing for 68 years old while poor Pam is unrecognizable after her 68th plastic surgery). This show is Agnes at her raunchiest best while still having a soft side.Don't believe the haters, give this show a chance.

Poor Quality
prylands-389-56748014 April 2017
This show is merely a slight re-hash of 'Mrs Brown's Boys' so if you find that show funny you will no doubt find this show entertaining.

Alas, I do not...the recycling of lame jokes, use of childish innuendo and a ridiculous 'Mammy of the Week' award is not for me. The BBC have abandoned creativity to allow this nonsense onto our screens - this is a one-trick pony and the trick was never all that good in the first place. Avoid.

Pretty Good (with reservations :-) though )
DragonSoul7423 April 2017
I had high expectations for this. Somewhat fell flat for me.

The new concept, studio audience and celebs didn't quite sit well with me. It felt a bit unnecessary and force fed. Took also some of the original attraction away. The celebs knew and played their extra parts, but that just it. They just were there... But most awkward moments, Mammy saved. Some sharpshooter one liners that blew me away laughing.

Never the less, some jokes still hit the bulls eye and the over all series was a enjoyable in whole. The characters were as before, and cast had fun portraying them. Cracking out in middle scenes. These were the saviors of the series.

If they still continue making the Mrs Browns Boys. I hope they go back to old sitcom way. That still worked best.

Out of Ideas

The original Mrs Brown series was a great piece of Irish comedy. This new concept which is one would call a talk show is a huge disappointment. It's as if when they decided to continue with the show they could not think of any original story lines and this is what they came up with. It is a disaster and has ruined the shows reputation.

One of the funniest shows I have seen for some time
gponcho24 April 2017
I have been watching All Round to Mrs Browns and found it to be one of the funniest shows I have seen for quite some time. I love the show and hope to see more of it. The humour which as sexual overtones is not overly done and I think just right.

Best comedy show on TV right now!!! George

I am from Canada and even the most remote find an love your regular show and specials I be the intro. The problem with this is no one outside your area knows none of the guests. Give the world what wants so reverse your scripts here and write limited eps. if be for the original! I hope this gets read by as many cast as possible! ty

Awful
studioAT9 April 2017
Mrs Brown is a popular comedy character here in the UK. No, this isn't a joke in itself, it's true. She's won awards and everything. The question is how and also why the BBC in their wisdom continue to devote so much scheduling to her.

This is their latest gimmick. I mean 'idea'. A chat show set at Mrs Browns house. How funny. Not.

Through in musicians eager to plug an album and some very average guests and you've got a prime time Saturday night programme.

Oh dear. If ever there was a reason to go out on a Saturday night it's this.

I'm giving it a chance. I like it so far.
Jigglypoof9 April 2017
I've only seen three episodes, but while it certainly is a departure from the sitcom we all know and love, it's something fresh and new. I'm giving it an honest try. It's still humorous.

Watching a bit of the original series from 2002 - 2008, the show seems to have always evolved. 70% drama, 30% humour. The most famous sitcom run, 70% humour, 30% drama. Now it's mostly comedy.

They will probably still have a Christmas special. Who knows? I'm going to see where this goes.

Bands not on dvd
charlenejtaylor4 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I have fallen in love with Brendan O'Caroll's Mrs Brown's franchise; but I am saddened with the fact that a good part of the show has been cut out of the dvd's - like the bands playing.

It would be nice if in the future this could be rectified.

Wouldn't even give one star

I honestly don't know how this tripe even gets on TV. One of the worst things I've ever sat through. Mrs Brown's Boys is bad enough. Irish comedy is better than this!

This is a disappointment, standard has gone way down
gibh10 May 2019
I have loved everything I saw from "Mrs. Brown" until the show started bringing in celebrity guests, and changing the concept by adding the talk show part...

I hope to see more from "Mrs. Brown" in the future, but please go back to the way the show used to be - it was the best comedy show I have ever seen, but not after the latest changes.

Before this, I rated Mrs. Brown 10 stars - this version only gets 3 stars from me.

Time to have a holiday and refresh Brendan
lanckenj14 February 2020
I have every respect for Brendan O' Caroll and his comedic genius of the Mrs Browns Franchise. This however has hits and misses of it but mostly misses. The thing I find most annoying is that Mrs Brown has to be present in every segment it gets too much. I would love to see the development of the other characters like Buster and Dermott, Winnie and Grandpa and even Cathy to be given their own right of development instead of being kept on a leash. Chef Ali is refreshing but the reggae has lots its appeal. The new Rory i also annoying sorry:(

Great Gun to watch. Give it chance.
lonekirchkristensen3 January 2020
At first, I was a little sceptic, but after a few episodes, it actually quite funny, and I love the stories from the celebrities, and mrs Brown. All I can say is, give it a chance, you might actually like it😉

Just dreadful !
alloutnow9 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I gave up about half way through the first episode. It simply isn't funny, the script was bad and the material just not interesting.

The involvement of celebrities such as Pamela Anderson, in episode #1, is just stupid and boring. Involving individuals from the audience is a bad idea and makes this show annoying and unwatchable. Selecting the "Mother of the week" from the audience and giving her some prices... I just cringed when watching the sorry excuse for a show!

The concept for this show should have been thrown in the rubbish-basket before launching it. What were the creators thinking?

Mike Douglas in drag
graduatedan13 July 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Anyone expecting more funzies with Agnes Brown and her brood will be sorely disappointed in All round to Mrs. Browns. This most recent incarnation of the Mrs. Brown character features Agnes as host of, believe it or not, a talk show, complete with cooking segment and audience participation. Agnes' daughter Cathy interviews people I've never heard of (although viewers in the UK do, I assume.) Dermott and his sidekick Buster, normally good for laughs are given their own segment which falls flat on its face in the episodes I was able to get through. Agnes interviews members of the audience, who, I grant you, look like they're having more fun than you will watching them. There's a mummy of the week segment which is rather charming, and then, for some inexplicable reason, there's the aforementioned cooking segment. All round to Mrs Browns is a major disappointment. Being a fan of Mrs Brown's boys, I was expecting an hour of fun and laughter, but, in the end, I had to force myself to watch four epsodes before I finally gave up. Oh and by the way, I didn't laugh once.

Comedy Struggle
londas17 June 2018
Mrs Brown´s boys was brilliant and hilarious, even though some of the jokes were old. This series falls far short and struggled to raise a laugh out of me and I switched to another channel midway through. The humor (rare) is stale and needs a huge boost if it´s going to last another boring season.Much of the content is like patching holes in dry-wall. Brendan, please create something entertaining for viewers.

A bit of a let down
Simon_J_Rodgers6 May 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I don't quite know how to describe this, other than a spin off from the sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys. The settings and characters are the same and even though real people are brought into be interviewed, the characters stay the same, as if they are real people themselves. Sort of the opposite setting to where Jeremy Kyle had a crossover with soap characters on his show, talking to them as if they and their plots were real. Jamie Theakston and David Frost have done similar material to this.

I honestly feel it that is was nice to see the consistency between the sitcom and this title. If I am totally honest though, the sitcom was starting to wear a little thin after three series, with a concerning amount of what appeared to be recycled material, including some from the earlier live shows.

One good example of this would be a section entitled "The Cathy Brown Show", where Jennifer Gibney interviews the celebrities in the guise of her alter ego, Cathy Brown. Thankfully it was normally two as opposed to the normal three, otherwise the material would have most likely been so thin, it would have snapped! Cathy is hindered in her show by her own mother, much to her dismay, however this was a very similar situation found in The Kumars at Number 42.

A third celebrity would appear in the section regarding Dermot and Buster in the recap of their substandard guided tours business.

A good part was the "Thought For The Day" in which the two religious characters Trevor and Farther Damien would give a short discussion in a silly but humorous and non-offensive manner. I also thought the rest of the show would have been made less vulgar but was not the case. I'm not even sure where I got that thought from to be honest.

As a result of all this, the mixture of the comical settings and interaction with real celebrities and members of the public was not as interesting as it would sound. I found it very tedious in parts. I would be very interested to see if this series gets a commercial release and if so, how well would it sell?

After the last episode aired, it was announced it would be back next year. Surely if it was that good, they would want to strike while the iron was hot and make it sooner?

Should have been halted when the premise was first uttered. Too preposterous to entertain for more than 2-3 seconds. Mr. O'Carroll's predilection for taking chances is part of what made the first show great, but like inching toward a precipice, eventually you will fall.
