Can anyone tell me why Leonard's mother wasn't at the wedding?? Was it mentioned on the episode? I just thought her absence was strange since they always kept in touch. Maybe I just missed the mention, but I couldn't find an answer anywhere else on line.

Great finale, but

I am not quite sure what to make of this storyline. At no time during the build-up to the wedding or at the wedding itself is there any mention of Meemaw. She is supposed to be the number one person in Sheldon's life yet nobody notices she isn't at the wedding or says anything about her not being at the wedding or says that she had died or anything. It's as if she never existed.
Nice finale of season 11

Yes, it is real finale. Thanx God, they did not go overused 'cliffhanger' way, just to make people more curious about next season. Instead that 'cheap' solution, episode was pretty much packed with goods. Probably more that in 3 average episodes of season 11. Definitely best episode of season. 2 famous actors as guest stars, fast change of scenes. And lot of good dialog/jokes.
Now, instead making this review unnecessary long - I think that above describes it pretty well, I will not repeat some complete paragraphs about season11 generally, in section for separated episodes (as one reviewer does here constantly).
Will rather express my thoughts about future of show. Someone said here that season 12 will be last. Maybe that's the plan, I really don't know. And maybe that will be best. It will be really hard to keep this at high level, and invent something refreshing.
Anyway, one thing seems sure: there will be still Will :-)

Actually Pretty Good

Lots of celebrities at the big wedding. Kathy Bates and Teller play Amy's parents. She is a virago. Wil Wheaton is set to do the ceremony but through a coincidence Mark Hamill officiates. There are some fun plot developments as things go on. It's science to the bitter end. Even Kripke shows his amazing talents.
Almost perfect

Great except for the three flaws already mentioned thus the 9 out of 10.
No mee-maw, no Leonard's mom (likely to focus on Sheldon and Amy's mom's rift) and worse of all no Stand By Me reunion maybe out of respect for River Phoenix.

There are two really great moments in this episode that nobody else mentioned. Firstly was when Penny put Amy's mother in her place. Secondly and quite hilariously was when Stewart with a rare show of confidence was (showing up) Mark Hamell by answering the questions from the audience that Hamill didn't know how to answer. Of course this led to Stewart's date being extremely turned on. Also very funny. And then finally toward the end of the episode when Hamill complains about having had to answer questions for 45 minutes... Stewart turns to his date and says 'yeah he answered the questions'. This was a great episode all around but a special shout out to Stewart!

The worst drag in a season that dragged were the "preparations" for Sheldon and Amy's marriage. For this reason, I wasn't looking forward to this episode.
Now I think that the season dragged because they saved all the best for last.
Everything happens, and more. Kathy Bates and Teller show up as Amy's parents, with both giving an indeleble impression of their characters. However, even if it is normal for famour actors/celebrities to appear in the show, the way they introduced Mark Hamill was a bolt from the blue. A moment of genius in scripwriting.
The best thing of this episode is that it was a sort of happening, with all the recurring characters showing up along with a storm of celebrities (even Hamill's daughter has a cameo). Everybody had his moment to shine within a storyline that covered from Amy's and Sheldon decisive breakthrough in their research - while everybody else was waiting them for the cerimony! - to Penny scolding unsuffereable parents in a way that closed even my mouth.
And then there was the marriage itself, which was honestly moving. I really liked how they showed that, yes, Sheldon can feel love, without betraying his character.
I agree that we should have seen Sheldon's mee-maw and Leonard's mother - but, honestly, the episode should have lasted 15 minutes more. As it is, it is already packed to the brim.
A great season finale and one of the most memorable episodes of the series. It doesn't beat the "Scavenger Hunt" one (what does?) but IMHO it is up there with the best.

Well I have got to say that this was such an amazing Season Finale in the history of season finale's because of one thing, Amy And Sheldon finally get Married which was so amazing. And another Amazing thing is that Mark Hammel was in the show episode and was introducing Amy and Sheldon as Husband and Wife was so amazing and funny both at the same time. Also when Wil Wheton Saw Mark Hammel, it was so funny when Mark Hammel thought that Wil Wheton was letting him introduce Amy and Sheldon as Husband and Wife so funny. At the end Kripke ruin the moment with his stupid singing. Well see you all next season, which will be the last season of The Big Bang Theory, which is season 12!??!?!!?
Wow! Just wow!

The Bow Tie Asymmetry

Warning: Spoilers
I am not someone obsessed with romance so the actual wedding did not really do much for me. However, there was a lot more to this episode.
The Mark Hamill appearance isn't quite as good as his Just Shoot Me one, but it still worked in this environment, and it brought out the best in Stuart with him snarkily showing off his knowledge.
This was a rare big deal TV event in 2018. That shouldn't go unnoticed or unappreciated. There won't be many more things like this due to how many TV shows there are and divided audiences.

To paraphrase President Ronald Reagan, "There they go again!"
Sheldon and Amy were stiff, almost robotic when they first met. They discussed the ground rules for their relationship, as well as other tedious points. There was no "When I first met you my heart..." moment, it was cold and clinical. So, as is so often the case with this show, they just make up whatever they feel will fit the bill at the moment with absolutely no regard to what has happened before.
All that clap trap in their vows was incongruous with the facts as we saw them in previous episodes. It was like we were suddenly watching a completely different show with different characters.
It would have been sweet had their eyes met for the first time and they fell in love instantly, but that is not what happened, and was not Sheldon's nor Amy's personality at the time.
So why not keep them in character by writing reasonable vows, or better yet, just use the standard wedding ceremony vows rather than subject us to this garbage? This is one of the three episodes of this show I have deleted from my DVR, because it is so insipid!

8 Years

I repeat and quote Amy's words: 8 looong years...
I can't believe it. Shelly is FINALLY a reality (i say they are now because we never knew whether Sheldon's lack of cultural intelligence would get the best of him)! And i guess this episode was also more memorable thanks to Hamill making a very so clear cameo!
Btw Missy and Georgie's actor/actress looks quite similiar to their younger counterpart. They really made the whole episode believable! And i'm really eager to see how revolutionary the Super Asymmetry theory will become for the show or for science as a whole. Its (mildly saying) quite an achievement for a sitcom to make a breakthrough in evolution, even though the show's theme is evolution.

Aah...wedding, also Mark Hamil

Warning: Spoilers
Amy and Sheldon got married and Mark Hamill was in it. Yes, the episode is good and has the trademark humor of Big Bang theory. I know it was Mark Hamill but imagine if they had William Shatner or Patrick Stewart. Yes, I find the nerds of this show relatable because I would react the same way as Howard did if I saw Mark Hamill or any other I mentioned. I would act like he teenage girl in a Justin Bieber concert.
An ok finale for a boring season
