Although they’ve never really been seriously considered by official voters, The Go-Go’s are your favorites for 2021 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They received 20% of the vote in our recent poll asking which snubbed band most deserves to be chosen to be inducted. Melissa Etheridge was tops in our separate poll about overlooked female artists. Look out for our poll featuring male artists soon.
The all-female group from the 1980s originally was started by Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Elissa Bello and Margot Olavarria. Other members who would most likely receive induction would be Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, Kathy Valentine and Paula Jean Brown. They beat out Duran Duran with 13% and The B-52’s with 11%.
At the delayed 2020 induction ceremony for the Hof, bands Depeche Mode, Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails and T-Rex are finally getting their due.

At the delayed 2020 induction ceremony for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, bands Depeche Mode, Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails and T-Rex are finally getting their due. Each of them waited a while to get in, so which other snubbed bands should be strongly considered for 2021? Vote in our new poll below which features 12 artists.
At the previous 2019 ceremony, voters also saw that long-overlooked bands The Cure, Def Leppard, Roxy Music and The Zombies finally got their due. With five to eight artists going in each year, bands seem to be the most populous. Male artists also have a fairly easy time getting in, but critics often complain about the lack of female artists being inducted. Our most recent poll results about female artists cried out for Melissa Etheridge to make the cut in 2021. Watch out soon when we have a poll about male artists.

Public broadcaster Kcet, and its stable of locally produced Southern California-centric programming, leads all local TV stations for this year’s Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards, scoring 20 nods overall, the Television Academy announced Monday.
Kcet pulled ahead of Univision-owned Kmex (which it tied with last year), which came in second with 15 nominations. After that was Telemundo’s Kvea, with 13, and then newcomer Spectrum News 1, with 12.
Spectrum News 1 was launched in late 2018 by Spectrum Cable, and earned three nominations last year despite launching midway through this year’s eligibility period. This was the first full eligiblity year for the local cable news channel.
Among traditional English-language commercial broadcast stations, Nexstar’s Ktla was first with seven nominations.
Kcet’s sister station Koce “PBS SoCal” earned an additional six nominations, giving the PBS SoCal Media Group a combined 26.
The Television Academy also revealed Kcet had already won an Emmy in the independent programming category.

The Monkees are your overwhelmingly favorite band to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019. They received 46% of support in our recent poll about snubbed rock groups. Of the dozen choices in our poll, the only other band to have double digit votes was Three Dog Night with 17%.
The results might be a good sign for both artists. Four bands at the top of our poll last year — Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits and The Moody Blues — were all finally inducted in 2018 after many years of waiting. Here are the results for our other recent polls about female artists (won by Cher) and male artists (won by George Michael).
Here are the rock bands and poll results for all 12 choices in our poll:
The Monkees (46%)
Eligible since 1991. Top songs include “Daydream Believer,” “I’m a Believer,” “Last Train to Clarksville,” “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” Nominated for...

Bon Jovi, The Cars, Dire Straits and The Moody Blues are no longer overlooked by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Those were four of our choices in a poll late last summer about cruelly snubbed bands needing to be inducted, and voters paid attention. All four of them were chosen for 2018 this past spring.
And now we offer you a dozen more rock bands that are still waiting for their turn. Vote in the poll below about which group needs to be inducted next for the 2019 ceremony.
Here are the results for our other recent polls about female artists (won by Cher) and male artists (won by George Michael).

Tagline: "His Beginning. Your end. Nightshift is an upcoming Irish-shot horror film. From director and writer Stephen Hall, this title is a supernatural thriller. Within Nightshift, Amy (Ashleigh Dorrell) works the nightshift, in an old hotel. She encounters a flesh obsessed killer. And, her only escape lays in uncovering the secrets of the killer's previous victims. Tombstone Distribution is representing the film as Nightshift nears completion. An early poster is here, along with the film's story details. The first poster shows the killer. Hooded and bleeding, this supernatural murderer is ready to kill again. "666" it etched into the wall, while the tagline states: "His Beginning. Your End." The fatalities likely begin in 2018, when the film is released. Nightshift has already announced casting. Dorrell will play the protagonist, while Mathew O'Brien ("Blight," 2015), Chrissy Randall and Nigel Mercier also star. More on this title will come this way soon, once production is.
