Shooting 'Witchtrap' with Tom Jewett (2017)
*** (out of 4)
Cinematographer Tom Jewett is interviewed for this fifteen-minute featurette that can be found on the Vinegar Syndrome release of WITCHTRAP. If you're a fan of that film or of Jewett's work then you'll certainly enjoy this interview, which has him not only talking about the film in question but also his opinions on the business as well as the various styles that are required in order to get the look you want. He tells some nice stories about how he met director Kevin Tenney and how well their working relationship was during the making of the film. He also tells some wonderful stories about working with the special effects in the film as well as his thoughts on the film having such a life as it has. He then talks about some of his "better" movies that are pretty much forgotten today. This here is a really fun interview that fans should certainly enjoy as Jewett really comes across as very energetic and the stories are all interesting.
