A review about the film and comparing it with other short films of the year in Iran
atamojabi-8181115 August 2017
This is even a more challenging film . A‎‏ ‏Collage film with a bizarre opening that ‎could push anyone back at the first moments, considering the ‎unsuccessful ‎previous experiences like it. But Ata Mojabi has artistically turn in into an attractive and admirable event ‎utilizing appreciated cinephilia . ‎ Mojabi in his movie, The Man Who Wasn't Here, actually go through all the ‎restriction and obstacles which have been approved as unsolved problems for ‎years in Iranian movies structure. The Man Who Wasn't Here is well informed of its strength and also impossibilities ‎it has to be ‎formed within its frame, this is why it aims an amazing creativity witch ‎use metaphors instead of innovating concepts. it choose a unique form for itself; it doesn't make but borrow . ‎ This is why I would like to call this film as the most impossible experience of the ‎year, and at the same time the most ambitious of then, and finally one of the most ‎successful ones to my surprise . ‎ A film that does not fight the restriction but uses geographical metaphors and ‎other worlds to create a super world for itself and finally become coherent and ‎prove itself to be a perfect film successfully . ‎ This is why Mojabi could be one of the hopes of upcoming future, all this skill ‎should have a purpose .‎ Written by : ‎Hadi Ali Panah
