Warning: Spoilers
This episode wasn't absolutely terrible, but it's probably the weakest episode of the show so far. Firstly, this episode was sexist, like seriously, this isn't supergirl. The feminism in this episode was awful. Feminism can be done great, but in this episode they were constantly reminding us every 2 MINUTES THAT THEY'RE WOMEN AND THEY'RE STRONG AND THEY CAN DO JUST AS MUCH AS MEN. WE KNOW THAT OKAY....STOP. That storyline was annoying, but felicity wasn't as terrible as she is sometimes on arrow, that's because on the flash they know how to write her right (kinda) Iris got really annoying. The highlight of this episode was drunk Barry. That was the only great thing this episode😂. Killer frost's storyline was okay, but it wasn't great. Killer frost herself was good but the villain, the blacksmith was kinda generic and forgettable. Anyways, this isn't "Schism" bad (maybe kinda close....kinda) actually the worst episode of arrow is probably broken of hearts or beacon of hope or whatever I don't care I don't wanna be reminded of that season.

The worst episode of the Flash TV series after "Run, Iris, Run"
asb_deutsch14 November 2017
Not exactly an episode by any standard. And it was easy guess that there was a woman director behind this. What was Laura Belsey trying to prove? That a female realistic "Ghost-busters" or "Mean Girls" meets sci-fi? Acting was bad, and the side villain made me laugh. Even there was no need to 'think' about The Thinker!

My ratings (based on what I marked on IMDb): Season 1: 200/23 = 8.69 Season 2: 193/23= 8.23; Season 3: 188/23= 8.17; and Season 4: 31.5/5= 6.3

Too lousy and too predictable. See you flash fans next week!

Weakest episode all the DC shows this season...
wolfpup316 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So until this episode I've been enjoying all 4 CW DC shows this season more than ever. I've thought the writing on all of them has taken a noticeable step up.

And then this.

To be fair, there's a bit of development with Caitlin/Frost...we're maybe finally seeing her come to grips a bit with...herself, which is good. (Though the audio filter they apply to Frost's voice is getting annoying.) The episode STARTS like it's going to be fun. It's great having Felicity guest star (I had to think for a moment "wait, this isn't her show, is it"?).

It worked pretty well, seemed like it was going to be fun through until Ralph inexplicably talks the other guys into going to a strip club they don't want to go to...which is as "fun" to watch as it is for the characters to do...which is to say, not at all.

There's piles of things that don't make sense (including Barry and Joe giving up their phones, Barry and Joe getting arrested despite doing nothing wrong and being police, and Felicity figuring out a biochemical question instead of having their Biochemist Caitlin do it. The latter at least probably for he sake of Felicity having something to do. )

There's also a weird stiffness to the dialog delivery and lots of dead air. None of the dialogue flows, and it's rarely well written. Ralph managed to be on the path towards rehabilitation as a character by the end of his first episode, but here he just comes off as sleazy and completely unlikable.

"The Thinker" has a brief appearance that crosses over from creepy to cheesy.

This is bad, but I'm suspicious/tempted to blame the new co-writer. The other writer has written multiple Flash scripts, and the director is good too...but the new writer's only listed credits are from Code Black, which did not exactly receive rave reviews. For all I know though the new writer could be responsible for all the parts that DID work, but...it's tempting to blame them when this was uniquely bad and the other writer has multiple Flash credits to her name.

This show is called "The Flash"
malhooti-627576 December 2019
Why was the flash the supporting character of his own show. Let's cut the feminist storyline BS, and talk about the episode itself.

Bad writing, story, & acting at some points.

If you add them up, you would get this episode.

The villain (Katee Sackhoff) is the worst part of this episode, with her over the top acting and I know its a CW Show, but wow, even for them that was horrible.

Iris is a boring charater, they completely ruined Felicity so this didn't make it better, and no one cares about Joe's woman, and her daughter, but at least Danielle Panabaker was fine, but didn't save the episode. -5/5.

#Feminism??
CesarSoze8 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The only good thing in this episode in my opinion is killer frost, and how bad-ass she is,she's the only reason I gave this episode 6 out of 10.But still i don't like the inconsistency about her character, why would she be afraid of Amunet ? even though she wasn't afraid to fight The Flash,Zoom,Vibe etc.. who clearly are way more powerful.

The worst thing about this episode was how forced the feminism thing felt , they must have said the words " Feminism,Female,Girl power " at least 15 times in a 40 minute long episode. Feel sorry to see such a bad director work on The Flash. The way this season of The Flash is going is not really promising , yes it's lighter and more funny but the writing and the story looks weak even compared to last season. It reminds to season 4 of Arrow, if it stays this way it's going to be even weaker. However, if it really gets as bad as season 4 of Arrow but gives us the chance to see a great season 5 of The Flash like The Arrow did , i'm up for it.

Not Good!
malwill-411107 November 2017
I'm all for girl power, but this episode was horrible. Outside of the villain which was cool the whole storyline was a waste of time. As much as I love the actress that plays Iris West they are trying too hard to make her an authoritative bad a... making the whole story line even dumber. Please please stop!

#Feminism ... Not Really!
lassegalsgaard-4528424 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
We live in a time now where equality is something that is important and necessary for the balance of our population. These are some real issues that real people need to fight feel legal battles over. When those topics start to play a major part in our superhero shows, I think we all need to ask ourselves, if we are really fighting that battle the way we should. This week's "The Flash" found it necessary to throw the word "feminism" in our heads more times that I can actually remember, which ultimately ended up taken every credibility away from the word. Because this episode was everything but a feminist episode, and that doesn't have to mean that it was a bad episode, but it was definitely an episode that missed its point completely. It was an episode that focused on the wrong things, and didn't really know that it could have been a great episode with some great moments, had they written it in a different way from a different perspective than they did. So, let's get into this episode a little.

This is a good episode. I enjoyed the episode, but it wasn't because of the main storyline that I thought the episode was a solid hit. It was because of the subplot featuring Barry and his friends having his bachelor party. The way the story changed almost immediately with Dibny getting his part in the entire thing was pretty gloreous, and I liked to see his inclusion in the gang. I liked to see the men of this show simply being regular dudes and celebrating a bachelor party in the same manor as so many others would. It felt like a fresh thing for the show, and it didn't feel like a desperate move to make the characters more relatable.

I also liked the main plot for what it was. An attempt to give the women on the show more to do. And it worked, and I was entertained for the hour the episode ran, though I will say that the main plotline and the message that they tried to get through didn't hit with me the way that I think the writers had intended it to. Instead of feeling like they tried to give women a strong voice on the show, it felt more like they were making fun of that movement. However, the storyline in itself, was fine and gave me enough enjoymen to look past the feminist thing.

This is also the first time so far that I have enjoyed the villain of the episode. Katee Sackhoff gave a good performance as Amunet Black, who is a metahuman (I think?) who can manipulate metallic objects. Though there were some confusing elements about her, I think that the writers finally understood that their villains don't work when they are too goofy. Black was menacing in the right way, still maintaining the right amount of goofiness, that didn't take away her creditbility. I am also glad that she is not a one-off villain, but that she will continue to have a role in this show.

The biggest part of this episode that I didn't like was the pacing. There were a lot of unecessary scenes, and scenes that just didn't go anywhere interesting. There is a lot of conversations with Killer Frost, that just seemed like reused dialogue from a conversation she had with some character in Season 3. The show definitely has a pacing issue this time around, and I think it's because of poor writing. This show has always had some of the best writers in the Arrowverse, however, in these last two years they have struggled. I think it's a shame, and I hope they come up with way to make the individual episodes more interesting than currently.

Keep Supergirl writers with Supergirl
relo999-601-4960408 November 2017
First the male side of the story, it's a decent story and the only reason I'm not giving it 1 star. It's shows the men in the show as regular men without it either being a overly dramatic or emotional moment or a high tension moment. The whole finding out that Joe's daughter in law was a stripper for "feminist research" is also fine and later she finds out she didn't really do that for that reason. People that do things simply to prove there own political persuasion to themselves exist and generally are that stupid. Not to mention there are some genuinely funny moments in those scenes. If that was the whole episode I'd give it 6 stars, not great, out of character for most characters but fine.

Than we get to the meat and potatoes of this episode. Every line seems to be extremely forced in an attempt to write a "girl power" episode. At least half of what is written in previous episodes is suddenly all forgotten just to push this story (Caitlin for example forgets she has a good friend in Cisco). Not to mention they let someone who had chained up, tortured (and possibly starve) a person for weeks to produce enough tears to supply at least a rave go away even though she could have easily be locked up because "#Feminism"?

All in all, just a typical Supergirl episode cosplaying as a flash episode. Just needed more super Lesbian Alex with her side kick Supergirl to be a true Supergirl episode.

This episode is supposed to be fun and that is exactly what it delivered. Drunk Barry is the BEST! And elongated man is a delight to the cast. It was fun seeing the ladies figure it out. But was it the best episode no, but entertaining yes!!

Girls Night Out, a Night Off For the Flash
ThomasDrufke7 November 2017
Not exactly an episode you would put on a highlight reel for season 4, but there's definitely some fun to be had with this one. The Team was split up for a bachelorette/bachelor night out, and it proved to have mixed results.

I think the whole strip club thing for the guys felt pretty strange. I know this was Ralph's idea, but it just seemed off to have Cisco, Joe, Barry, and Harry there, considering they have never even showed a glimpse of that type of lifestyle. It's just not something I see them doing. Put on top of that Barry being heavily drunk, almost to the point of being really annoying, and you have a weak spot in the episode.

On the girls side of things, it was a Killer Frost week for Danielle Panabaker as she took on new villain, Amunet Black (played by Katee Sackhoff). Being a fan of Katee's since her early days of hosting The Schmoes Know Movie Show, it was a thrill to get to see her make her debut on the Arrowverse. She was certainly overcooking the performance a bit, but sometimes that's what is asked of an actor when they come into this world of metahumans and aliens. I dug it for the most part, and her fights with Frost were definitely impressive.

All in all, not a ton happened on tonight's Flash. Barry had his bachelor party (without Oliver??), Iris had her bachelorette party and managed to fight off a villain with the help of Felicity, Cecile, and Caitlin (in a way). It seems The Thinker took another villain under his wing, and I have to be honest, I just don't care. But if there was ever an episode that I feel is of no necessity to re-watch, it's probably this one.

A girl's night out should have stayed out of the Flash's story
mjkramer-978858 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This was just awful, the dialogue unrealistic... nobody says hashtag whatever in real life, the idiotic push of feminist agendas were the worst, the Flash just getting wasted and be a no show, when he can outrun Elongated Man with ease or that Vibe does not vibe his sorry ass somewhere else, as he drags them to a strip club is just nonsense to reveal a cliché of Joe's daughter in law being a stripper. And whoever plays Amunet can't act or be convincing enough to show a fight, even Iron Fist did it better and he was worse off than the Power Rangers.

GREAT
lauma-014652 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Unlike the other comments on this episode that are just whiny men complaining on girl power.

I found H I L A R I O U S. The drunk Barry Plot.

This episode is pretty good. It may include a bit of propaganda that is not usual to this show. But I definitely think this kind of girl representation where they don't have powers, are just regular women that can and will save the day. Not waiting for the men to come and save them.

Just plain horrible
djsemidream10 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Outside of a few Killer Frost moments and Katee Sackoff's appearance, this is by far the worst episode of The Flash EVER.Everything was so wrong,so lame, poorly written with some kind of a Girl power idea that lead to the disastrous ending. First of all, Killer Frost is afraid of the Amunet ??? She was not afraid to battle The Flash,Savitar,Cisco...With all her powers, she fails to defeat her in the middle of the episode, yet Iris,Felicity and Cecile go to fight her and the gang with a couple of guns ??? Really!Wow! The idea that girls can take care of themselves against a powerful villain and a band of thugs with guns is so misrepresented that it actually hurts. Quick mention of Katee's terrible English accent, Cecile's stripper daughter, Joe and Barry ending up in prison and then Harry gets them out(two cops land in prison and get bailed out by a person from another dimension ,really?)... I'm not sure how I made it to the end of the episode, another one like this and I'm definitely done with The Flash.

An episode of The Flash without The Flash
hawkins_saints_rock8 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This weeks episode was unfortunately the worst of the season, with not much important happening. The episode focused around the Bucks and Hens night for Barry and Iris respectively.

The boys took a backseat in this episode with no Flash, no Vibe, no Elongated man, and no cop Joe! So honestly there isn't much to talk about here, besides Barry being drunk which was absolutely hilarious.

The girls take the spotlight this week with Cecile, Caitlin, and Felicity (how does Felicity get a gig in Iris' Hens Night but Oliver is not at Barry's Bucks????) joining Iris for celebrations. During their mellow night, the henchman we saw from episode one comes back for Caitlin who then turns into Killer Frost. I really enjoy Caitlin as Killer Frost, so was fun to see her back and the storyline involving Amunet Black was interesting. But it wasn't anything that would knock your socks off. It also seems that this episode has allowed for Caitlin to have some control over her powers. Will we see Frost line up with Flash and Vibe at some point this season? I hope so.

We get a Thinker tease at the end as he recaptures one of the bus metas that we met tonight, who I'm not gonna go into because it's next to pointless. My main issue with this week is that, after Barry realising that DeVoe is in town in last weeks episode, we got nothing towards Team Flash trying to track him down. This was the biggest type of filler episode a show could have. And just like Arrow is better when Oliver is under the hood, Flash is at its best when Barry is the Scarlet Speedster, and we got none of that tonight which was disappointing.

Killer Frost and drunk Barry make this episode watchable. But honestly not a Flash standard episode.

SJW cringe has arrived to Flash
louiethepitt8 November 2017
I was afraid that at some point this Identity politcis were going to make their way into the show..and it was worst than I ever thought it could be... this was a bore fest... the incesant, non stoping Feminist propaganda being push every 4 minutes... completely out of place... Felicity is a Superhero and a top Hacker, one is a top Officer in charge of Meta-human affairs, one is an accomplish journalist and head of operation at star labs and killer frost is not only a Meta and powerful one Omega level...but she is also a Chemist and overall scientist... and they talked the whole episode as if they were oppress or something....WT*...really? from nowhere the future political daughter of Joe comes into the picture and we get Feminist reference every few seconds.. talking about male gaze by going into a pace that has male gaze... complete waste of time...

it gets a 3/10 just because there were some advances in the actual story this season...but the rest of the episode was crap guys, and last week's episode was a little bit crappy also...so the show is going down hill the way of Supergirl...so DC/Warner now want 2 SJW Series in their roster it seems...which is good for me, I was already looking for excuses to cut some shows from my roster specially this days that there are so many Superhero shows running... and well if Flash keeps going in this direction...it will follow the debacle of SJW-Marvel and their laughable sales.

The Flash - Girls Night Out
j_forbesy8 November 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This season of the Flash has started quite strong for me. While it's not the best start to a season, it has laid a lot of ground work that I think many of the other shows take a bit longer to lay.

Before getting into the meat of the review, I have to quickly mention the reoccurring security joke. Security at STAR Labs has been one of this shows biggest faults and I like how the writers have the self awareness to poke fun at it. It is a value I think the show does very well and it showed again tonight.

Okay, girl power. The biggest problem I have with male driven shows trying to make a girl power episode, is that the first thing they do is take the men off the table. And they never take them off the table because they have to deal with a treat that is important, but instead put them in a situation that could have been avoidable. Episodes promoting girl power is something I think this world needs, however when it is in episodes like this where girl power is a result of taking away the men, it never does anyone any favours.

Despite majority of the episode being focuses around the women in power and the men out of commission (which I thought at point was still entertaining) there were still some elements of this episode that I think will stand out when we look back at this season.

Firstly, I thought the Killer Frost story did a really good job on focusing on Killer Frost and Caitlin and giving us some answers as to what as happened between the end of last season and now. Going forward, I think her coming clean to everyone is going to set us up with having a more friendly Frost and have her powers be utilised by the team.

The second thing I really liked about was Katee Sackoff. I thought as a villain she worked quite well and I like how they have pitted her as a Killer Frost villain rather than a Flash villain. It seems as though she will be back so I am very interested to see what they do with her.

The final thing is that I liked how they gave the metahuman a bit more meaning with DeVoe picking him up at the end. It'll be interesting to see what they do with him but my hope is that he is used next week. My biggest take away from it however is how DeVoe spoke to him as though his power was given to him for a specific purpose. While we know he has behind everything happening, giving him the power to choose what powers each person got will add another dynamic into the story.

Overall, while this episode was no where near the best, or even middle, there were still some parts that stood out to me. While they did stand out amongst a weak episode, I think these elements will still be standing as important points when we look back at this episode later on.

Worst episode on any Television Series.
awley9 November 2017
First of all, I've never felt so disgusted from an episode, the poor writing and the idiotic way they portrayed feminism, it's super weird and lame! The dialogues were cringe as hell. I had to fast forward most scenes because it was so cringe I couldn't just sit through it, this episode shouldn't be on this season. It never should be made too. I would suggest you skip this one. I can't believe I wasted almost 45 mins on this trash of an episode! Whoever wrote this needs to quit their job.

Is this a DC fans virus?
megaruda25 May 2020
Are DC fans standard mysoginists? The episode was ok, there was no reason to rage or hate. The flash Is a mediocre show From a Storytelling point of View (if anyone actually studied script writting), only dumb-os would think this Is a writing masterclass, so, there Is no reason to hate on this normal episode unless you need therapy.

FLASH going down the PC Hollywood BS
john-ruger10 November 2017
I love shows and movies about super hero's. When I started to watch this, it was for… THE FLASH! Not for his power trip feminist girlfriend, not for his adopted dad, or his 2nd rated super hero's friends, no just the flash. This show is now dropping way to far in the PC Hollywood BS. What's next? A transgender super villain?

Haters gonna hate
fernandodelamadrid13 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Not the best Flash episode there is, but a good one, and fun to watch. The way the story unravels, with parallel storylines moving side by side:
  • girls nite out. They wanted something nice and quiet. End up at odds with a meta-mob-boss who deals with human trafficking, and they kick butt, while bringing Frost' humanity back to surface. Go girls!
  • guys bachelor "party". Wanted something private, just friends, good old memories, and a good stake. End up in a horrid strip-club, dealing with their complexities: of becoming an adult guy or girl, getting married, being a middle-aged parent, or embracing feminism in your own terms.

It's all just about people dealing with their stuff, and relying on friends for support.

Oh, and to all those who despise the so-called feminist agenda: get yourself together. It's called 21st century, and it's about time feminism gets at least 1/10 of screen time as "traditional" men-centric ideology and agenda (which is basically everything else in media). You don't get to be misogynistic and get away with anymore.

I wish I could fastforward to cut down viewing time
drkknt-2314914 November 2017
This episode is horrible and the season after 5 episodes is looking bad. Flash's meta freak of the week is like Smallville's meteor freak of the week. We had the original blast and now the bringing back the flash blast creating a new batch of meta humans. Boring. The only Rogue's gallery to rival the Flash is Batman. Flash has a great collection and the handling of them is sad.

Blacksmith's special effects didn't look good. The dialogue is juvenile. As smart as this group is supposed to be, they are immature. Joe and "Harry" for the most part are my only favorite characters. I'm near the end of my tolerance for watching the series, the entertainment factor versus my time doing other things has reached a re-evaluation point. Good luck to the show.

Too much hate
warriorytx26 January 2022
This episode gets a lil too much hate. It's not a great episode by any means but it's really fun, and funny, which is when Flash shines most it's now Arrow where ppl are killed and tortured. It's a more lighthearted upbeat show. Also Drunk Barry is legendary.

Also, Can I just say how is Felicity written better on The Flash during her guest appearances than she is on a show where she's a main character that being Arrow ofc?

Worst episode ever. It seems someone tried to push the feminist bullshit agenda to this episode and failed miserably. The feminism talk made me almost to stop for good the episode. Also, the part where a detective goes arrested does not make any sense.

If you want to follow this season plot, just skip to the last minute. You will thank me later for saving 40 min of your life.
