Good, funny episode
sloopnp9 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'm actually enjoying Sam relating to many of the characters based on his own experiences. First with Jack, now Rowena. This is another witch episode which I found entertaining and funny.

It's going to be hard to take any deaths seriously if people just keep coming back from it. Kitch, Mary, Rowena, Cas. I like many of the characters, but does anyone ever really die? They did a great job with Bobby. He's come back as a ghost, flashbacks, in hell, and in another universe...but never back from the dead.

This show just keeps on giving
Kingslaay9 February 2018
A great episode that brought back an old favourite, Rowena and was a showdown against two new witches. Things got more interesting when Dean came under their spell and was in love. Rowena also proved she could not be trusted by triple crossing the Winchesters and having plans of her own with the book.

Meanwhile Castiel and Lucifer manage to escape from hell but shockingly Castiel strikes Lucifer with an angel blade that looked to kill him. I'm pretty sure most fans are not convinced we've seen the end of Lucifer or the beloved vessel. Also note how Rowena was able to come back from the dead twice, including this very episode. So if a witch can do it then the Devil will manage to come back and fully recharged. Lets hope he packs a big punch with a good story. His story lines have been lackluster in the last year, he seemed like a naughty kid who escaped and was causing mischief rather than a plot.

It will be interesting to see how powerful Rowena has become and how Jack will later fit in to the story.

The Sam thing ..
rimailbox21 May 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The thing that made this episode good enough is how Sam deal and understand Rowena's problem, they have the same problem because of Lucifer, I was teared up when Rowena find out about her Fergus. I love how the boys a bit hesitated to think about it before they answered. I really want him back! People in Supernatural used to come and go, Crowley have chance too, isn't he?

I somewhat regretted that they were not trying to contact Cas again, but I quite understand. I enjoyed watching Cas and Lucifer's team work, of course everyone knows, betrayal is a hallmark of Lucifer. I'm not surprised, it's just that, again, Cas and his unlucky day.

And I guess Dean too weak to got witches's spell who are just passing through. You better than that, bro. Please don't trapped with stupid spell anymore. Even, it's okay because he realize it at the end.

Nice to see how care Sam is, and how Dean pacify him. 8/10

Witches and trauma and stuff
shwetafabm2 August 2020
The main plot was good, some basic annoying points like how the brothers can be killed easily. Rowena is back again and its lazily explained byt i do like seeing her back. The other part with Lucifer is whatever, its too dragged out for me to care.

Rowena and zombie mother fight is very enjoyable
roadbytheriver17 February 2024
My favorite episode of season 13

Like Sam and his older brother Dean, the powerful witch Rowena gives a great acting performance. Her facial expressions, attitudes, words and movements add a very entertaining atmosphere to the episode. Her deep conversations with Sam about despair are touching, and her fight with the witches zombie mother is delightful. Ruth Connell does justice to the role. She brought a wonderfully humorous edge to the character from the beginning.

There is effective harmony, emotion, depth and sometimes fun in every scene of the Winchester brothers. They always find a way to solve problems together.

They've been fighting witches for how long....?
vn_larsen19 September 2018
...and yet they are so vulnerable that any witch can slip a hex bag in their pocket and 100% control them? What? They got the anti-demon possession tattoo like right after they learned about demons. You would think they'd have a way to not be so vulnerable to any random witch that comes along. IMO. Just upsetting the show still has such lazy plot points.

The prior episodes prevent this from being fully engaging
CubsandCulture19 July 2021
There is some funny witch stuff in this episode and I rather liked what they did with Rowena here. I think the scene where she and Sam bond over feeling powerless is a touching moment in the season. Unfortunately, the prior material around Rowena treats her as such a plot device that I don't think the pathos is fully earned.
