My Favourite Mobile Game
connorwburnett1 September 2018
After playing Clash Royale for almost 2 years I have been able to watch this game grow and evolve over time. Some may say the game is predominantly pay to win however I have never spent a single penny of this game and have gotten a great experience on what the game has to offer. Honestly I find it quite hard to pick out flaws for this game. I used to think that there were only a few viable decks when I first began playing making it so It felt like I was just playing against the same player over and over again which admittedly did become frustrating. Although I don't think this now because of the games constant updates and level of polish allowing most cards to be usable whatever arena you are in.

One very noticeable downside to this game is the lack of card level restrictions for each arena. For example say if you are in arena 9 and have level 7 common cards you could possibly come across an opponent with max level 13 common cards and have almost no chance of winning. I am suggesting a feature that would only allow you to have cards at a certain level to be able to fight in an arena and if you didn't - such as you having level 12 cards in an arena which only allowed level 10-11 cards - they would be rounded down to fit into the level restrictions. However you could say that because of the games pay to win attitude it wouldn't be fair to the players who have spent lots of money in the game to not be able to use their high level cards to their fullest potential. This feature would make it much easier for free to play beginners to get into the game without being forced into the forever approaching whirlpool of micro transactions. A lot of the time the game does try to match you with players around the same level as you however this system isn't full proof and needs to be adjusted somehow to make the game seem more fair and rewarding to the average player. This would definitely increase the current player base as it has significantly dipped since the games golden age in mid to late 2016.

Finally I do really enjoy this game and I hope it keeps with the flow of updates to prevent the games death. I greatly recommend this game to any mobile game player.

Well...

This game is fun at the beginning. But once you get into the leagues there is almost no control over you winning or losing. You will face pay to win people with maxed out cards that will just overpower you no matter how good you or they are. And every time they add a new card which is not often it is overpowered and then they nerf it the next update and it is trash.

Pay to win and unbalanced

This game is fun to start for sure but later on you definitely realize that this game has a boatload of problems. First of all it's pay to win, if you buy the season pass and spend money in the shop you can overwhelm a player at the same level as you with maxed cards. All the time I play in king rank ten or eleven and face a full level 14 deck, it's very unfair. I don't spend money on free to plays so it's a bummer. Then we have overpowered cards. Don't have the space to explain them Al but I'll list the ones I think need to be nerfed. Infernos, hog rider, freeze spell, Tesla, ebarbs, balloon.
