As you know I played Streak: Hoverboard Racing for Playstation 1 and I'm glad there's a hoverboard game for PS1. This uses features that Back to the Future 2 movie uses, your character races against other hoverboard rivals to get first place or more points in order to continue on. You have to perform hoverboard tricks in order to boost your hoverboard speed. Be careful, if you don't hover land your hoverboard right in time then you crash and have to get up and catch up. You also have a limited boost that can run out so you have to be careful you don't run out but you get a refill every lap. You have to watch out for cars and pits which won't kill your player but let's them get back on the ground again.
Now about the music, there's a circus themed song, there's also techno music songs, an Irish themed song, a Japanese themed song, there are lyric songs in hard rock or punk rock and there's a rap song in the game, there's also a Halloween theme song at St. Morte's unofficially called "You're going down" with the organ playing, other hard rock and rap songs "Kiss my Streak" at Skyview Highway, "Down you're leading" at Mainline. and "Take you by force" at Eiswald Spitze. There's some mild profanity in some of the songs.
I always like picking Groove the hoverboard person, he's easy to use and to steer those sharp corners. I have played all 12 levels including Windway Park, Barnum's Alley, Agua Escondito, St. Morte's, Skyview Highway, Arey Keep, Rearden Forge, Matsuri, Mainline, Darklith Falls, Eiswald Spitze, Front Line. This game had me frustrated at times, you also get to retry a level if you fail to maintain your first place position. You also get cutscenes talking to an agent man in a suit and wearing shades that promotes you to more difficult levels. The ending is an agent man congratulating you for winning.
Even since this game, I wanted hoverboards to be a reality, even when I played Treasure Planet on PS1, PS2. Sadly we're in the 2010s heading into the 2020s. But there's no cheap affordable hoverboards out on the market, although we do have a zipline hoverboard, or maglev hoverboard, bulky air cushioned hoverboards or ducted fan hoverboards, but nothing like the lightweight hoverboards in Back to the Future 2 NES or Streak: Hoverboard Racing. I only hope someone can find a breakthrough in the hoverboard development research which I once worked on.
This game has sadly been forgotten, it's not even available on Playstation Network which it should have been. Meantime if you have a Playstation 1, 2, or an earlier version of 3. Get this PS1 game, it's not expensive and you'll have fun but get frustrated at the same time, this hoverboard game is worth your time.
