- When they Guards and the Samurai were about to agree in expanding the village buildings upwards, a Guard tries to shoot Toya. Manazuru takes the shot instead, that being the first time for a character to bleed on-screen in the series. Now believing that unification between the Guards and the Samurai is impossible, Toya draws his sword and orders the Samurai to capture the Sacred Shrine Maiden, starting a civil war in Mahoroba between the two factions.
- After the Slayers defeat Tokiwa-no-Orochi and return to Izumo Shrine, they notice the protagonist is missing. Then Shiki reappears, stabbing the Professor in the stomach from behind and pulling her with him through a portal.
