"The Way I Am" is the first song of Eminem, in which the beat is created by the rapper himself. It uses an ominous bass, bell ringing and piano.
A remix was also recorded with Marilyn Manson, who sings a refrain.
In the song Eminem speaks out about people who put a lot of pressure on him, fans who do not give him a quiet life, as well as on record executives who demand from Eminem a successful hit like My Name Is or The Real Slim Shady. Eminem speaks out about them very aggressively, shouting at them.
"The Way I Am" received a golden status in Sweden, selling 10,000 copies.
In 2008, Eminem released an autobiography entitled "The Way I Am."
