Downward Spiral: Inside The Case Against Aaron Hernandez
For the man who has everything there is only one thing left, to lose everything, or in this case to throw it all away. Aaron Hernandez was a sportsman with an attractive fiancée, and more than a few dollars in the bank, so why would he murder a man over a triviality? Although he was convicted only of one murder, it is a near certainty that he committed two more; certainly he shot another man in the face, causing him to lose an eye.
This documentary was broadcast the day of his conviction for the murder of Odin Lloyd, although it does not include an up to the minute report. And although it hypothesises, it has no answers: maybe it was the death of his father that set off Hernandez on his downward spiral; maybe it was drugs; maybe he was a psychopath; maybe he was just no damn good. Hernandez would stand trial for the other two murders, and was acquitted in April 2017, but shortly afterwards he committed suicide in his prison cell leaving a note to the effect that he would see his family in Heaven. Did he really think he was going to Heaven?
