Lucy says Harriet Tubman never received a pension for her Civil War service, but she after a great deal of fighting did finally receive it in 1899. Her Army service is somewhat understated as she was truly employed by the Union Army in numerous capacities.
The time travelers tell Harriet Tubman they were sent by General McClellan. This takes place in June of 1863. McClellan was relieved of command in November of 1862.
Conner tells Jiya that Stanley Fishers muscles have atrophied to the extent that he can't walk and yet he is able to put his legs Indian style on the bed and uncross them without help. A person with atrophied legs would not be able to do that.
Nicholas mentions that his daughter was 2 when he left. The grave for her shows she was born in 1913 though. The US did not enter WWI until 1917. It's possible but not every likely that he would have gone 2 years before the US entered the fighting.
The opening caption establishes that the events of this episode take place in Beaufort County, South Carolina but mountains are visible in the background of this scene and other scenes during the episode. Mountains exist in the northwestern area of South Carolina where the state borders northeastern Georgia and western North Carolina. But there are no mountains in Beaufort County which is a coastal county located between Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina.
Ryerson tells the assembled gentlemen in the parlor that Yankee troops are assembling around Vicksburg and that they "move out in the morning" to intercept them "before they converge". By June 1, 1863, Grant had all the troops he needed for his siege of Vicksburg, so no further "Yankees" were needed to converge there, and a nine day march from Beaufort, SC to Vicksburg wouldn't make any difference. Also, home guard troops in South Carolina would not have been transferred to the Western Theater.
The Rittenhouse agent is given an entire book on the Civil War, bearing that title.
This is risky, and also pointless. Information about past events is not needed, and changing the war would mean that detailed information about future battles would soon become useless. It should have been a file of documents giving only what was needed.
