- Jesper has managed to get to Paris and to Astrid and her partner Jerome, but it doesn't take long for the police to find and arrest him. Jerome then comes to the rescue.
- Jesper Berg was assumed killed, but surfaced from Poland to Paris, where his ex Astrid's new lover, attorney Jérôme Cohen, accepts for her sake to defend him against arrest and extradition by France. Jesper rejects the PM's offer to return with amnesty, even if that means appealing to the European Court for Human Rights, a huge PR forum. Hans Martin Djupvik and the PM are getting desperate, considering dirty tricks, while new Russians investigate the murders on heir compatriots.—KGF Vissers

In Paris, Jesper Berg walks through the City of Light, he arrives at an apartment, his ex-wife Astrid lets him in with a hug. Another man is there, Jerome Cohen.
Bente encourages Nadia Minnikov to go home for Christmas, but Nadia wants to stay in Norway. Maya is there and chats with Nadia about murdered fathers.
Jesper has a shower and sees his infant son, Astrid puts the child to sleep. Jerome has made up a guest bed for Berg. During the night Berg is wakened by noisy street protests. He goes to get the sleeping baby.
Frida is with Leon her computer buddy, he is intent on tracing one of the FOS users. At a military base three soldiers lie on the ground in the FOS pattern. Frida is interviewed, happy her protest movement is growing.
Anita Rygh and her core staff watch the news and discuss shutting down the FOS site. She says to let it go on but tells Pedersen to "rein in" Frida.
Nadia lets Bente know there are two Russian visitors. They are cops and interview her about Minnikov. She admits seeing Minnikov the day he died and did know that he was co-owner of the Hotel. The cops thank her for her time and let her go.
Jesper asks Astrid about the protests, she says they have been common since the EU cutbacks. Jerome arrives for breakfast. Jesper wants a lawyer, hoping for Jerome. Outside a police tactical squad enters the apartments.
The TV news highlights good Christmas shopping sales and credits PM Rygh. Pedersen wakes Rygh from a sofa nap to let her know Jesper Berg is alive and in French custody. Djupvik and the Generals apologize for not following up on the fake Berg execution video. Anita wants to get Berg before the Russians.
Jerome sees Berg in jail, admitting he had called the police, to protect Astrid. Jerome then offers his services to plead Berg's case at the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights. He suggests a Rule 39, threat to life, reason.
Jerome then has a presser and announces Berg is claiming political asylum. He downplays the talk of Berg as a terrorist and likens him to Charles de Gaulle.
Anita Rygh arrives in France, but is met only by the Justice Minister. Rygh says right away that Rule 39 doesn't apply to Berg as he would be safe in Norway.
Bente lies awake thinking. Arriving at work she finds out Zoya has been arrested for Minnikov's murder. Back at home she tries to text Nikolai but is too stressed out.
Anita meets Jesper in jail. She wants him to come home, he can serve about two years in prison and not be extradited to Russia. Jesper doesn't trust her, she tells him France will send him to Russia regardless of the Rule 39 claim.
Djupvik, Buan and Bø review the video of Cecilie's interrogation, she hints Stefan Christensen had a contact. Djupvik thinks there is a snitch in their department.
Bente goes to the Oslo Police. The detective investigating Minnikov's death meets her. She admits killing Minnikov, then calling Nikolai who covered it all up. Her spy handler arrives and says they still need Bente to spy on Russian VIP at the hotel. They also point out Nikolai would be punished.
Leon shows Frida he has hacked the PM's emails. She wants him to delete the files but he refuses.
Jerome issues a video statement from Berg. The former Norwegian PM claims France has made a deal with Russia but he will continue with his Rule 39 case. The TV news commentators discuss, this move by Berg makes it unlikely France will extradite Berg to Russia.
Bø meets the lawyer for Cecilie, she wants to make a deal for another name, the woman refuses. Geir Buan goes in and says they have info the lawyer, Silje Ramsfjell, has lied about her education.
Jerome has a happy presser, the Court will apply Rule 39. Berg is released to a waiting press, Astrid and the baby are there too. Anita and Pedersen watch the TV feed in dismay.
Rygh meets Sidorova, they tease each other about Berg and Minnikov. Rygh then says she wants other Nordic countries to become involved.
Frida's father explains the government has to blame Berg in order to get the five CoastGuardsmen released. Upset, she goes to see Leon, they plan to review the hacked emails.
Silje Ramsfjell announces to the press her client, Cecilie, held for four weeks, will provide new information to the police. Djupvik and his team have a new tip about Havstrand but Djupvik doesn't want to move with the mole still active. In the evening, Djupvik tells his security he is going out for two hours and leaves in his wife's car. Djupvik, Buan and Bø stakeout a restaurant, Silje is there, possibly meeting someone.
Nikolai comes by to see Bente, they kiss each other hungrily. Later, after sex, Bente says she wants him to stay, in a more open relationship. He wonders about Maya.
After a couple of hours the stakeout seems a bust, Silje ends up dining and going home alone. On the way home himself a car appears behind Djupvik and runs him off the road. His car rolls and ends up in a ravine, Djupvik bloody in the twisted wreck.
