Fascinating history of the Germanic tribes

This is well done and connects a lot of dots for me. The digital recreation of faces over the skulls that have been found in each area adds a whole new dimension. I recommend this series!

Perfect to really learn or consolidate that specific era

Warning: Spoilers
So the special effects for battles are not great. And that's the only bad thing about this documentary.

It really helped me to put things in perspective, and finally being able to understand how Rome "fell" and how the Middle-Age started.

It's a transitionnal period which had always been blurry and mysterious to me. Not anymore.

The most impressive aspects are the actual archeological discoveries being shown.

Now I can explain to someone else the big lines of what happened and the difference between Vandals and other tribes. I can explain that they all wanted to be part of the Roman Empire and admired them, that they integrated themselves peacefully.

Learned a lot

Fascinating documentary. As an American, in school they don't teach you European history in this depth and I must say I was pretty ignorant of the movements of the people of Europe and I really learned a lot. Highly recommended if you like history.
