Clunky but enjoyable nonetheless

I love a good on-set documentary, mainly because the film itself is still so new for the cast and crew. Instead of a reflection on the past, it's an exciting reflection on the present, which isn't something you get very often in a film documentary. It was a little clunky and gave the impression of being made in a hurry, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Interesting making of documentary

Warning: Spoilers
This 26-minute documentary provides an engrossing and illuminating behind the scenes peek at the making of Peter Weir's "Picnic at Hanging Rock." Weir talks about how the line between fact and fiction can be easily blurred as well as how he made it a point to pay attention to even the smallest details. Author Joan Lindsey describes hanging rock as both wonderful and rather spooky and refuses to reveal if the story is true (she prefers readers to figure it out for themselves). Rachel Roberts discusses coming to Australia to play Miss Appleyard and admits that she saw Miss Appleyard as a pitiable character. Moreover, there's lots of choice footage of hanging rock in which dialogue from the movie plays over said footage in a truly eerie and unsettling way. Recommended viewing for fans of the film.
